Now that may be true. I don't think any amount of facts that proved GZ not guilty would change their mind.

Marvin is a good example. Nice guy, other wise rational, one of my favorite posters. He looked at the evidence and knew GZ was not guilty. He knew what verdict was coming and said he would be ok with it. Then when it became a reality he can not accept it.

To be honest I might be somewhat the same way if he had gotten 2nd degree. The main problem is the guy was way way over charged. The Feds pushed what they wanted. I would bet any amount of money that if he had been charged with some offense that resulted in a year or 2 sentence he would have been found guilty.

It is not so much that he was not guilty of anything, he was just not guilty of Murder or Manslaughter. Who can you blame for the Over charges.. The same crowd that is raising hell and acting ridiculous know.

Marvin was one of the people who watched the trial daily and admitted that there was simply not enough evidence to know what happened.

I believe OJ was found not guilty because of 2 reasons, the police screwed up and the prosecutors failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he was guilty. Do I think he is guilty? Yes, but I will never for one second sit here and say the reason he was found not guilty was because the jury was predominenlty black, nor will I sit here and say that he would have been found guilty if the jury was predominently white. What I will say is that I found the post trial celebrations by the black community despicable,they acted as if it were a basketball game and their team just won the championship. All the while two people have had their lives taken from them in a very brutal manner.

I live my life judging people by nothing other than their merit. If you're a good person, I want to know you. If you're a bad person, I don't. Pretty simple really.

It's too bad that everything is so black and white for you Marvin, but I think you prefer it that way. Otherwise you'd have no one to blame for all of the "wrongs" done to the black people in this world.

You of all folks have seen that I don't blame anyone for the problems they bring on themselves. Myself included. I've said it on here countless times that you decide your fate, not someone else. I've account my achievements and failures to my actions, not someone else, but I would be a fool to say that racism doesn't exist. Just like folks celebrated OJ getting off, you have folks on here doing the same thing, you have congressmen telling TM parents to "get over it" and trash like Ann Coulter saying Hallelujah. TM's character has been murdered over and over again, and as a parent of two black children I know how bad it can be.

I can see shades of gray, that's why I know you and Karee while I don't agree with your line of thinking, it doesn't make you a racist. You're still one of my favorite Canadians.

If he had a chance to ask TM what he was doing there, he had a chance to identify himself first instead.

TM: What are you following me for?

GZ: My name's George, I'm neighborhood watch here, I thought you looked lost. Do you need help finding where you're going?

OR

GZ: My name's George, I'm neighborhood watch here. Just wanted to make sure you were okay.

That's how it could have gone down and I bet that would have gone a long way. An identification and something other than an accusatory "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" as if he didn't have the right to be there.

And if you think the fight started as soon as GZ asked TM a question, then why are people saying TM hid in the bushes and attacked?

Possible yes the conversation could have gone that way or TM could have just said he was walking home but we all know it did not go that way.

NB: I never said he wasn't guilty, I just said with the jury selection and what little evidence they had they, he would walk. I have made peace with it. I am not tearing up places and rioting. I went the to rally in NYC because we were there and I wanted to see what was going on. I even told MBD not to get too confident, because in my heart I knew he would walk.

Both are guilty, but in this case the "thug" factor was way over inflated because the child was black.

Marvin, I'm not talking about the problems that people bring on themselves. I'm talking about viewing every aspect of life in black or white. I think that's what you're doing.

I mean no disrespect, but you're sounding just like a conspiracy theorist that thinks there's a boogeyman behind everything that happens in the world. It just isn't so.
