If the jury was mostly black, I'll take the hit on this one. They would have found him guilty. I know this for a fact because every single black person, young and old,(I'm talking about my mom's age 60+) has expressed their feelings about this. They see their kids in TM. They've lived through this, they know how they would have reacted. You can't convince a black person who's lived through this mess that a man who got out of his car to chase a teenager without identifying himself at all, who was walking home from the store, who had no clue as to why he was followed, would react any differently.

So basically what you're saying is that they would've ignored the facts of the case and found him guilty because GZ was white, and TM was black. Good to know. Also good to know that the black community thinks it's ok to beat the hell out of a white person if they think they are being followed. I'm learning alot here today. Can't say I like these rules.

Well you're talking apples and oranges here. But since you brought it up, I think that woman was screwed and treated unfairly. That however has nothing to do with the TM/GZ case.

Me too. But that's my point, in that case they said she had opportunity to get her kids and herself out of that situation. Which I could honestly say would have been the best bet. But she chose to stand her ground, and it landed her in prison. George had the opportunity to let the cops do their job, there was no law being broken, no one was in danger. But he chose to get out of the car and an altercation arose from that choice. But he was proven innocent.

Because it shows how the justice system thinks of blacks as a whole. I didn't leave anyting out, I know OJ did it and did it ever occur to you the reason he got acquitted was because the police station screwed up with the evidence and DNA was completely flubbed, or are you thinking because blacks were on the jury it was a racial thing? Personally I think he should have been thrown under the bus, but like you guys keep pointing out, it's the legal system.

I've pointed out several cases where all white juries have convicted innocent black men and let guilty white men go free, some more than once. And yet it escapes you why we are up in arms about this.

Here's what you should do. Find the nearest black person and ask them what they think. You can even quote me, and see what the response is.

Dude ppl are making a non racial issue into a race thing and some ppl have very happy to exploit the racial divide.

Have you ever heard divide and conquer?

Today morning on NPR this lady ( I was driving did not catch her name) being interviewed after the TM/GZ case was shouting they need more black judges coz prison are full or blacks….....

Nope they would have looked at the facts you keep trying to ignore. Why was he following him in the first place? Why didn't he identify himself? If he was acting in a neighborhood watch capacity, why did he break every rule in the book? If he was acting like a concerned citizen, what crime was committed for him to follow TM in the first place?

Marvin self defense wouldcome in effect after the first punch was thrown, self defense does not come into effect from the time GZ got out of the car.

Perhaps it is because many in the media, and here on VJ, are celebrating that a white looking dude shot some black kid and got away with it.

Why do you tend to listen to folks that don't express our views as a whole? Look at the open letter to GZ, look at Stevie Wonder, look at the positive black people that are outraged, the intelligent, logical ones that are speaking abou this.

Did you see white / non AA Al or White Jessie calling for celebration rallies?

Did you see white / non AA out in the streets vandalising and destroying the stores in celebration?

You think an all black jury would have gone against the instructions given and come to a different conclusion? Why?

Well, I don't see Marvin ever conceding to a not guilty verdict. Stands to reason out of 6 black people, at least 1 would feel the same.

But what would have been looked at is why would you get out of the car in the first place to chase a 17 year old who hadn't broke the law and you never identified yourself, nor did you explain what you were doing or what you wanted.

I believe OJ was found not guilty because of 2 reasons, the police screwed up and the prosecutors failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he was guilty. Do I think he is guilty? Yes, but I will never for one second sit here and say the reason he was found not guilty was because the jury was predominenlty black, nor will I sit here and say that he would have been found guilty if the jury was predominently white. What I will say is that I found the post trial celebrations by the black community despicable, they acted as if it were a basketball game and their team just won the championship. All the while two people have had their lives taken from them in a very brutal manner.

I live my life judging people by nothing other than their merit. If you're a good person, I want to know you. If you're a bad person, I don't. Pretty simple really.

It's too bad that everything is so black and white for you Marvin, but I think you prefer it that way. Otherwise you'd have no one to blame for all of the "wrongs" done to the black people in this world.

No. I'm not.

I don't think the race of the jury impacted the verdict.

I disagree. If had an all black jury they would have rung him up. Look around you, they still want him put away even though he was found innocent

And again I am always amazed at how I can give entertainment to lifeless people searching the internet to prove Gary wrong...and OH, a Canadian flag! What a surprise.

There's no need to scour the internet to prove Gary wrong. All we need is you to open your mouth.
