How do you propose we do that when blacks are less likely to get hired for a job than whites, even the same or better education? Look at our school systems, look at yours. The rules are different on every scale.

Getting off work, Ill type more once I get home.

We have different school systems based on Race ?

The only way the problem is going to be fixed is to admit it is a problem and stop blaming others. Stop glorifying the lowest common denominator of your society .

Do you really think making TM a national hero is going to inspire troubled young black males to do better. ?

Thank you for an actual mature response rather than the other nonsense people are spewing.

I'm not trying to piss anyone off. I have tried to be as objective as I possible could be during this whole trial and in my posting. There was plenty of this on both sides. nutswinger.gif

Some posted some pretty pathetic things over the last several weeks. IMO, the line of humor vs decency were TM was concerned was crossed repeatedly, mostly by the same few members. But the other side was/is just as fanatical as the ones they criticize for their lack of cooth.

I saw something about that movie on T.V. Someone interviewed the guy that made the movie. Surprising there's time to interview anyone not related to this TM/GZ business. I'll have to check it out. Seemed interesting.

I'm not saying there's no racism in this country. There's is. Probably more than I'm aware of. All I'm saying is that using this particular case to argue for racial equality is a losing proposition. There's all kinds of rampant speculation that this thing was racially motivated, yet zero proof. Why not take a case where it's crystal clear and use that as a cause?

I really have to get out of here, but I will respond to this. There was tons of proof he was profiled due to his race, but it was left out of the trial. Have you noticed that no one can say that if TM was white and had the same record, and GZ was black, with the same record, that there wouldn't have been a black jury? This could have happened in the blackest part of Alanta GA, Detroit, St. Louis, or any other place. I would bet my life and say there would be no way they would let a group of black folks determine a black man's fate in killing a white teenager. They would have bussed in some white people that didn't even live there.

His very demeanor said that when he called TM f****** a****** and saying they always got away. What did TM get away with?

Time for the circle talk. Again. You didn't care about that law before because there was no way it was going to work in GZ's favor.

I always cared about the law. I remember back in 2010 in the aftermath of the Dooley / James incident in my neck of the woods there was a large piece in the paper on the devastation that Stand Your Ground has caused in Florida since its inception. I will admit that I was not aware of the broader impact this law had and how it changed the instructions given to juries in cases where self defense is claimed - those that are not Stand Your Ground cases which never see a jury to begin with. So with that added information, my objection to the law becomes stronger. But it's been there all along. I've never been a supporter of this nonsense.

Ahhhhh WHo Me.? Don't want to play any more ?

He is getting what he deserves for all the finger pointing and insulting before the trial.

Did you see him come in here after the election, and go-- Oh well we are all wrong sometimes, no he was still beating that drum and hurling insults a few weeks ago.

Yup lap dog.

I'm not playing. I'm done.

Regardless of how many times I've disagreed with your opinion, I don't think I've ever personally insulted you or called you names. I tried to give you the benefit of the doubt, even AFTER you decided to personally insult me and make digs at what I do for a living. But now you're back, calling me a lap dog, and implying someone on here is my 'leader' so I don't think for myself.

I won't be responding to this garbage anymore.

I'm not familiar with the Dooley/James case other than a few brief comments that you have posted here. Do you have a link for the Cliff Notes version? I'd like to read about it but I don't want to get immersed in it.

I support the use of this gif in any situation.

And you're right.

I am never going to get out of here. No one is making him a hero, what people are pointing out is how even if you are walking to the store you can be a target. This only happens in the black community.

Let me get home so I can show some links as to what I am talking about.

I can take teasing. I don't like the implication that I can't think for myself or that I do what someone else tells me.

It's also a little more than just teasing when he takes something he knows of my personal life, like my job, and attempts to use it against me somehow. It becomes a bit less funny.

I don't think I've ever crossed the line and insulted someone's job, or what have you. That kind of nonsense doesn't belong on an internet forum, IMO. Maybe I'm taking it too seriously, but it bothered me and I made it known that it did. And now the implication that I can't think for myself or that I'm anybody's lap dog is just the final straw for me.

Don't have the desire to respond to ####### like that anymore. :)

Here's the TBT article on his conviction. Has a rough overview of the case as well. Very similar cases. Except here the perp was black and the vic was white and the perp ended up being found guilty of manslaughter. You tell me how that makes sense. I think a 69 year old in scuffle with a 41 year old military veteran may have more of a reasonable fear of great bodily harm than Zimmermann could have ever mustered. It is this particular case that left me quite confident that Zimmermann will not walk away.

Oh no you have never said one unkind word to me , are you freaking serious ? I just give back what is given to me.

cool one less female ridding my butt.

P.S. I have no idea what you do for a living

PS2- you take this shat way too serious and if you can't understand the difference between calling you a lap dog and calling you a dog,

god I hate to say this...You have comprehension problems.

That is so not true.

http://www.techyville.com/2012/12/social-media/when-black-kids-fight-in-school-are-they-treated-differently-from-the-white-ones/

Nationwide, predominately black, inner-city schools place a higher premium on security than suburban and rural schools. In 2009, I was on a panel with Ron Huberman, who was at the time the chief executive officer of the Chicago Public Schools. He spoke candidly about differences in the way that predominantly white and predominantly black schools deal with fighting. He said at predominantly white schools, a fight typically results in both students being separated and isolated with an adult, ultimately resulting in a formal mediation process. Contrarily, fighting at predominantly black schools often results in both students being arrested by school police officers. It is worth noting that Huberman is a former police officer.

And that's just the tip. But I've seen that nothing will change your mind.
