I was told last month that the woman that I considered my mother is not my biological mother. She is my biological mother's twin sister. At birth my biological mother was extremely ill and they thought she would die, so her twin sister took care of me, my whole life! She is even on my birth certificate !!!! Now they decided to tell me the truth! 29 yrs later! So I was upset for a month now, however I realized that the time I m wasting to be upset could be the time I spend building the relationship with my biological mom( life is too short to hold grudges)...

Now I can't move back to Africa, I would like for her to come and stay with me. I don't know how to start explaining to the immigration about my birth certificate. So I am guessing the best thing is to do DNA testing.

How and what type of forms should I use to introduce my case? I m planning to take a trip there soon and do a DNA.

Thank for feedbacks and ideas

I think first U will have to get the BC re-issue in the real moms name and U can buy a DNS kit take it

with U to satisfy your knowledge when you get back, you're correct don't hold a grudge..she did what she

think was right; the B/C has to have her name and if you are USC then you file for her

Yes, the birth cert would need to be corrected. This may be do-able with a simple affadavit from both ladies, or DNA test may be needed locally.

The DNA for the visa would be done after the interview, at a facility specified by the US embassy.
