Don't make the assumption that everyone in your camp 1 is like you. Many on this board are racist as #######. In my view, they are making it about race as much as your camp 2. Just read some of your supporters. They're not saying troubled young black man. If they thought they could get away with it, they'd use a word they no doubt use regularly amongst friends in real life.

Zimmerman made it about race when he profiled the kid, Then the gun nutters tried to save one of their own, by stereotyping the kid as a thug, and they continue to do so. Justice was lacking in this case, but that is the system we have, so everybody has to live with what happened, well, except for the dead youth. He lost. Zimmerman won. Something is wrong with that.

I think things are a little bit better here than they are in the South.

In Washington State it's pretty laid back racially speaking because it's so mixed.

I see lily white grandma's with their mixed grand babies all the time. Even for me, it was a little different when I moved here because that wasn't happening as much in the Bay Area of California when I left 18 years ago. Now I don't give it a second look.

I've lived in the south. Their are some great people there as well as some that aren't with the program yet.

Thing is. TM was a thug or at least on his way.. The fact is he attacked GZ . If he had not tried to beat down GZ he would be here today

If you believe in all powerful Lord on high, and a final judgement, then I suppose that excuses any sort of injustice in the world. Sounds more like a way to keep the peasants working the fields to me.

Death is the ultimate price. Usually you get 20 years on death row and a bunch of appeals before you get lethal injection.

GZ may have met the bare minimum legal definition of self defense, but that doesn't mean his stupidity didn't make him partially responsible for the homicide. If we're expecting teenagers to be the arbitrators of common sense in society then we are doomed.

Your crystal ball on the future of one 17 year old black youth's success or failure is not a lock and he wasn't the devil to begin with.

There is ample injustice in the world and has been since the beginning of civilization. We are free to believe what we want. I think there is more to it than what we see everyday. Others believe this is it. I can't prove anything and neither can they. Someday we'll find out or we won't find out.

I am please justice was served and the idea that we do not need to tolerate having our head smashed on the sidewalk has been upheld. I have no need to make comments about 17 year olds taking walks at 7pm...or 1am for that matter.

When Pasha was 17 he often went running (jogging, whatever you call it) at 1am after working at a drive in theatre. So did the other of my four sons. So what? He lived to be 19 by never attacking anyone. I don't know if he was ever followed, he probably doesn't either. If he was, he would run directly home. But then, he is a Math Major at the University of Houston, even though he is from a multi-lingual family in which three languages are spoken, like Dee Dee. And had to switch languages for his education in 8th grade. Poor kid. It is a wonder he can write cursive at all, let alone in Russian, Ukrainian and English.

I'll tell you what the DOJ needs to investigate here if anything-- the City Manager of Sanford. How do you fire a police chief because he sees that there isn't enough evidence to convict someone, when there isn't enough evidence to convict someone.
