I am lost when it comes to this though. What will wr have to do in order to get married in brazil? I am american.

Here is a link to the information on how foreigners can get married in Brazil:

You can't file for a fiance/ee visa for your spouse. Once you are married you must go the IR/CR route.

The K-1 visa only applies for those who are not yet married and whose intentions it is to marry stateside.

So according to that website we will need to go together in person to register intent to marry. Does this have to be done first? The marriage license it says takes 30 days, but I will only be able to stay a maximum of 30 days in Brazil before I must return home. I am worried we wont have time to wait the license out before we can get married. Is there a way to shorten the time or that he can do some of it without me so that when I come I will have time?
