Change of Address after interview is scheduled. need help

Hi everyone,

I m an international student and at the end of April (28th) I applied for AOS (married USC 1 year ago).

I am very happy that everything went very smooth and I got my EAD at the end of June.

The contract for the apartment that we are renting now (that I applied with) is expiring at the end of July (1st of Aug) and my interview is scheduled for the middle of August (19th).

We are already renting another apartment in a different state and I am using both apartments until the one that I applied with expires on the 1st of August.

My question is if I change my address to different state will my interview be rescheduled ? and do I need to do an address change at all ?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it will, and if for some reason it isn't and you actually attend the interview in your old state, once they find out you have moved to a different state then they will terminate the interview and the new office in the new state will reschedule it. The reason being is that local offices only have jurisdiction over a certain part of their state. They cannot approve you if you have moved to a different state, because you are now under a different office's jurisdiction.

You should change your address online; change your address on all of your pending applications, and you may also want to call USCIS and speak to a tier 2 officer and inform them that your old interview date should now not proceed. That or make an Infopass at the old local office and inform them that way.
