Hi all. We are another same-sex couple. Sent my I-129F on 8/2/2013, got NOA1 on 8/7/2013, and waiting on NOA2. It has been 49 days and still counting. I do have a question for those awaiting for NOA2 or have received NOA2 already, have you got your I-134 package ready? I am following VJ's tips and guides and I got the impression that I should send my out after I receive my NOA2. But I heard from a friend of my that her friend send I-134 along with her I-129F. I guess my question, is when should you send out I-134 to your fiance? Share with me what you did, please.

We're happy to have some more good news to report. I received an email from USCIS earlier this evening saying that our I-129F petition has been approved by the TSC and the NOA2 was mailed 9/26. So, it looks like we'll be on our way to Rio de Janeiro! Thank you Edie Windsor and Justice Kennedy!

My boyfriend and I met online about three months ago, and after he spent a week down here with me we knew that we were absolutely right for one another. We practically spent the whole week wrapped in each others' arms, and are completely convinced that we want to spend our lives together. We're just starting the process, so I'm glad to have found this place early on. He's from Canada, and I'm from the USA so I've been told it's a bit easier of a transition.

Long time lurker, new member, and first time poster here. I have questions regarding my same sex adjustment of status case -- please don't get mad if I posted at wrong thread but I couldn't find a more appropriate one to post at.

Here's my story. I've been in a relationship with my partner since 2007. We are both "closeted" so we kept our relationship in private. None of our family members and friends know. Because of the understandable non-traditional nature of our relationship we tried and kept our relationship as "downlow" as we could. He, a natural born US citizen, lives in the east coast, and I, on the other hand, on an expired H4 visa (and no criminal background and not in deportation proceeding) lives in the west coast. Our geographical distance worked to our advantage as it made our relationship easy to hide. For 6 years, either of us visit/fly to see each other for up to a week or more, about every 2 months. In some cases 3-5 weeks apart. We made it a point to see each other as often as we could and we've been to about a dozen trips just the two of us together -- Hawaii, Miami, Chicago, etc.

Also for the past 6 years, we talk on the phone almost everyday -- from about 10mins to more than 1 hour each time. When DOMA was struck down we both decided to get civilly married in private: just us two and a commissioned employee at a city hall in California. Now we are in the process of gathering evidence for adjustment of status.

Here's all the things we have:

Airline tickets to see each other

Hotel/car reservations for our trips

Years of phone records

Photographs of just him and me from our different trips

Photographs from a couple concert events we went to together

Due to the nature of our relationship, neither of us have photos with either of our families. We know each other's immediate family members by name but he never really met my family aside from "hellos" when he come to pick me up at the house. I haven't met his family at all.

Also because we live apart we don't have joint bills and bank accounts and co-mingled funds. We both plan to live together in the future and share bills and have them under each other's name -- but that probably won't happen anytime soon as I plan to go back to school here in the west coast once I get my paperworks done -- and he cannot leave his job in the east coast at this point.

So with this situation, what's our chance of being successful in the immigration AOS process?

Any insights will be appreciated.

Please I need help as I am a novice when it comes to immigration terms, and my husband and I cannot afford a lawyer at this time.

I am on F-1 Visa and it expires in the middle of next year. although I plan to get my F1- opt before my phd career. My same sex partner and I got married last 3 month and he has been hitting on him filing now. But I am scared I might get denied because we stay in different states due to my studies. Although we have a joint account he does not have a medical insurance but as an international student it is mandatory i pay for my medical insurance. Also the school told me I won't be able to jointly file tax with my spouse. We had a new hyphenated last name but i am yet to change it since it will take a long process because i am still in school. Do you think We should start the process now . And Yes my spouse makes the required amount to file for me.

I'd appreciate a reply or a link where I can find help.
