What we sent:

Mortage refinance documents.

Utility bills last 2 months

Bank and credit card statemetns last 2 months.

Tax returns transcript from previous 2 years

Car & Home insurance

Documents proving travel abroad together

3 affidavits (different from previous ones and talking about the last 2 years)

Now just waiting.... :-)

Are the tax returns you submitted federal, state, or both? Should I submit both federal and state tax returns (which we filed as 'married filing jointly')? It's 6 months away before I can file for ROC but I'm trying to get the documentation in order this early as we're not hiring a lawyer this time (we had a lawyer for both the K-1 visa and AOS).

Check my timeline for K-1 visa & AOS details

We don't have state taxes here so we only submitted IRS Federal transcripts. I would send state too if you are required to fill those. No need for a lawyer if you follow instructions. We didn't use one for AOS.

That's almost 7 months. Is that how long ROC takes to process these days?

It seems to depend on your service center. California moves a LOT faster than Vermont. Many Vermont people are submitting N-400s before they get word on the I-751!

About three weeks ago, Harel's family went through some changes that require him to stay in Mexico to support his mom through everything. We've looked at the possibilities we had to continue things, but unfortunately none of that would suffice to extend our long-distance arrangement indefinitely. So this morning we agreed to end our engagement. However, I want to thank all of you for the support you have given us--and me--throughout this process, and I continue to wish you all the best moving forward.

04/16/2014: When Darren Met Harel (in person for the first time)

08/14/2014: The Proposal (but in Mexico, not Alaska)

02/27/2015: Flight of the Application

03/03/2015: Reception (Christopher NOA1an's latest masterpiece)

09/25/2015: 205 Days Later (NOA2)

05/11/20116: Engagement ended for familial reasons

Hey everyone--Same sex couple waiting to hear back on our NOA2. Got my NOA1 on 3-4-2016 and it was sent to the California service center. I know it's only been around 3 months but my fiance in the Philippines is getting a bit anxious. I told him just to be patient. It's almost a year since my last visit. After three years together it will be great for us to start our new life here is the U.S. It's very encouraging to see all of the other couples who have gone through this process before us. Good Luck to Everyone --MJ

After an RFE and a 9-month wait we finally got notification that our 10-year green card is in production. Next up, applying for citizenship in August. Hope everyone's journey is moving along smoothly.

We may be a minority but I was wondering if there are any binational same-sex couples on this forum. We all know the hardship we have to go through in order to reunite with our beloved one and have the same rights as hetero couples.

Me and my fiancée have just started filling the petition.

Where are you from?

Since when have you been in relationship?

Which petition are you applying for?

SAME SEX COUPLES HERE!!!!

Already married and living together in USA. He's from Argentina I'm from Mexico. WE had been together since 2010, I entered as K1 and now applying for AOS.
