I received the letter from the NVC today, telling me what I already knew thanks to Visa Journey, the case is being sent to London. It also says my fiance should go ahead and complete the DS-160 online. I had thought we were supposed to wait for a letter from the embassy about that, so this should speed up the process! I hope! It's nice to see this on paper in black and white!

We had our interview for the K-1 at the Sydney Consulate today, and got a 221g as the NZ police cert we submitted was not the way they obtain them now. Other than that, the process was very smooth and everyone was very friendly. Will submit a review later, but the questions were the same as others reporting - nothing unusual!

Do it. We pasted screenshots into Word of the FB wedding announcement and friend's comments as well as the private messages we sent to close family and friends.

thanks your input

that is what we sent to uscis and we got approved, i dont think its going to be a problem at the interview

Hi guys! I am new to this forum. Just a little background about me and my partner. we are same sex NJ & Toronto. Spouse is currently living abroad and has never lived in the states, we met online. We started dating back in 2010 and got married in October of this year. We just filed our I-130 last week. Just wanted to put myself out there to relate to other people going through this as well and get advice as people seem to be further in the process. I know that there are some backlogs that are happening right now, hope that the process starts picking up for all of us cause I cant stand being without my love anymore!

We had our AOS interview yesterday and got approved on the spot! We received confirmation of the approval today, green card is in production! So happy! We can finally breathe!

The IO was a lady in her late 20s, she was very friendly and nice. She did ask for details on how we went from friendship to a romantic relationship, how many times we met before we started dating, who proposed, how and when, and details about the wedding. She didn't treat us any differently, the only mention of us being a same sex couple was when she asked why my wife's parents and sister didn't fly to New York (we live in California) with us for the wedding, we explained that my wife's grandmother was sick and at the hospital and that her aunt and uncle didn't know about us being together at the time, so if they (parents and sister) had come along, it would have seemed weird for them to "take a vacation" while the grandmother was sick,.since they were hiding our wedding from the rest of the family (at the time they didn't even know we were in NY, the grandmother just thought we stayed home and didn't want to visit her for 4 days while everyone else came daily...). That we didn't tell them then because they had a yes on prop 8 and "one mom, one dad makes a family" bumper stickers on their cars. The IO agreed that it really sucked. Since then, we did tell them about our marriage (a couple of months ago) and they are surprisingly totally fine with it. Anyway, that was it smile.png (I wrote a detailed review in another topic)

Congratulations!
