Hi everyone.
I am sorry to ask the question in a new thread but I really need to know if anyone has found a solution that works to this problem.
I am an F1 student who just got married and I am changing status and filing my whole packet together in the US. My husband is my petitioner but we have a joint sponsor (his mother). She files her taxes jointly with her husband.

If you haven't already seen the new I-864, it's a little more confusing now. In part 6, Question 13 it has 3 blank boxes for the last 3 years and says "My total income (adjusted gross income on IRS Form 1040EZ) as reported on my Federal tax returns for the most recent three years was:" and you are suppose to fill in the blank boxes.

Now, a couple of people have told me to put that amount on her W2 in those blank boxes, but technically that IS NOT her total income lists on her Federal Tax Return... What should I do? If I write in the amount of her Federal Tax Return it is the joint amount which is slightly higher than her individual income...

Does anyone have actual experience with this or has read from USCIS instructions or a representative? I can't find any solid information anywhere and I need to know ASAP.
Any help would be appreciated.
