It looks like there were 6 reasonable, impartial, and open minded people on the jury. Good thing they didn't pick jurors from VJ.

Well I have to give it to you. You were very open and from what I thought was a slight TM lean at first. As the facts came out you moved firmly to the GZ camp.

So......... What's everyone's opinions on current gun laws in the us?

There will be some backlash, but the NRA owns enough legislators to keep anything meaningful from being done, Zimmerman did lawfully own and carry that firearm. So, while there will be some outrage over the verdict, it doesn't really call for any changes to existing gun laws. Florida may see some backlash, if this becomes an election issue next year, but I doubt it will matter much at all.

Which is exactly as it should be. Hopefully there will be a lesson learned from this in that the next dope-smoking burglar wannabe gangbanger who wants to jump the neighborhood watchman will instead simply go home.

I honestly was leaning a bit to to the TM side at the beginning, but I really tried to let my opinion form on the evidence presented in the case. As I said many times, I had no favorite in this case. It is truly a tragedy that a young man died as a result of the decisions he made that night. But the prosecution didn't prove their case and that is why there were no charges filed for 45 days. They knew they had a weak case and would be lucky to get a manslaughter conviction. I had doubt and following the judge's instructions, I had to vote not guilty. Emotion played no part in it. I sincerely was open minded about this.
