It used to be a V-Visa, but they are no longer offered. If your child wants to visit you, he can do it with a B-1 or VWP depending on the nationality. I'm afraid you will have to wait.

It's amazing how many questions can be resolved with a 2 minute Google search...

Hi,

nope, for children over 21 there is no special visa.

the Visa V was for spouses and children under 21 of a LPR

nowadays depending on the country, the wait can be from 7 to over 20 years

I adjusted in the US under the 245i law and I had to wait 5 1/2 years, that was in 1999 and I became a resident in 2005, the visa bulletin retrogressed 2 years so now the wait is over 7 years

you have to check the visa bulletin every month to see when your priority date becomes current. this is the bulletin for the month of August
