Timeline

I know that in every forum I read, people are saying "update your timelines". I just am feeling frustrated today so thought I would post a reminder. When I started this process and joined VisaJourney (I'm filing the I-130 to bring my husband, April filer), my timeline showed and estimate from July 17 - August 5. Today, when I looked....it's now all the way back to September 29 - November 2. It is so discouraging! crying.gif I understand that the members here are just a small portion of all the petitions and that if the timelines don't get updated it screws with the estimates.

SOOOOO....Update your timelines.....I need some encouragement right now. Missing my hubby.

Just don't look to much into it. NBC timeline is not accurate because that's not where your petition will be adjudicated.. Usually only expedite and Petitioners living abroad stay at NBC. Since August 15, 2012 you go to NBC than to your local USCIS office and there just isn't any stats for that.

What I have been seeing is 3 to 4 months wait at NBC than sent out to your local office. That's why you need to call USCIS to see exactly where your case is and stay on it.

After USCIS its been 3 to 8 weeks for petition to get to NVC. So while you are waiting get all your papers together for NVC for Affidavit of Support and all your husbands documents ready to send when you get case# he can get police report and send all (since its $85 to send FEDEX).

So hang in there you have about 4 to 8 months at USCIS than another 2 to 3 months at NVC to interview date.

If I were to update our timeline.....hahahaha it would not be a positive thing when you are feeling down. All I can say is this, after four and half years of VJ my husband is finally home. The up side of this long long hellish VJ is that it does end someday and someway. Patience and endurance with a lot of support will get you through this maddening stage.

Take one day at a time. This way you don't expect or anticipate a deadline. Take care and best of luck!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I do understand that it will go to my local field office for processing. I was just feeling down today. I also know that I am still pretty early in the processing. I'm almost to 3 months in. My file is still showing the last touch was May 2nd at USCIS. And of course, my local office doesn't show any kind of timelines for the I-130. I was just getting discouraged because I have been following the March and April filers and no one seems to be getting much movement. We have a work at home program at my job and I work from home 3 days a week, in the office 2. I was joking (kinda) with my boss and asked him if I could work at home full time.....from Africa. He said he'd check into that for me (jokingly of course). It was sure a nice thought though.

There are only 4 approvals total for April thus far! Don't get discouraged!

Endure . . . He who waits a little while enjoys the end the most

I like your usage of the words 'a little while'! Lol lol. :) But yes, anyway, let's be patient.

I'm the beneficiary.

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.
