It's at the national benefits center but it is still here because I filed it on June 25. And as far as bringing him to my wife's interview, that has been discussed but he hasn't had a medical appointment. Will that be a problem? We have all other required documents though

Whether your wife can bring a child her interview appointment is up to the policy of the Consular IV unit. If he is allowed in, that will have no impact on his visa. He needs an approved petition to be eligible to apply for a visa. One must apply for the visa and get the medical before the visa can be issued. You are facing a delay in getting the child a visa. It is your choice whether to delay obtaining a visa for your wife.

I don't see an issue with her getting her visa next week, as the visa is valid for 6 months after. My stepsons I-130 will be expedited shortly and then it shouldn't be more than a couple months before his interview

Sounds like a reasonable choice to me, as long as the extra trip is not too much trouble or expense.

The extra trip to the embassy?

And the medical facility, yes. If this were a China case with the immigrants living in Beijing, instead of Guangzhou, where the interview would be, it could be an issue. I have no idea about the logistics in your case.

Based on recent feedbacks from people who put in expedite requests, it appears that expedite requests are taking over a month these days where it used to be a couple of days if not a couple of hours.

I still have no progress on this expedite request. I requested expedite over FIVE WEEKS ago on July 1st. They tell me that they have a lot of expedite requests that the evidence is with an agent, but they've had my expedite evidence for over 3 weeks now. Has anyone else had this issue?? Thanks

Onek when did you request your expedite?

I am right behind you. I requested on July 8th and have called tier 2 about 10 times, but no help. I don't think they can do much other than to give you a more accurate status of the case than tier 1.

I haven't seen any expedite request approvals recently. I guess expedite department isn't processing requests recently for some reason. I read somewhere here that NBC was moving to a new office. I wonder if that has something to do with not processing requests for weeks.
