I can teach anybody how to do an effective reverse punch in about fifteen minutes, a backhand punch in another fifteen minutes, and by the end of an hour, they would be doing combinations. It takes longer to teach people how not to get hurt when they fall.

My question would be is he potty trained yet? Did he learn to walk at 7? Is he mentally challenged?

I'm 50 haven't had to fight in 20 years. I avoid arguments. I always avoid fights because they are dangerous at any age, especially if you qualify for AARP...lol But even when young I'd never follow anyone UNLESS I was trying to save someone or I decided I was willing to face the possibility I could be killed.

I'm 5' 8", 220 and I'm not going to try and fight a 17 year old kid, but if I had to and he weighed a buck fifty, once we get on the ground he's getting choked the F out, but I'm not killing him, just because I could. I don't need the bad karma on this life or any other.

I am too old and fat to chase anybody. I just wait until they get too close, and grab them by the throat. It scares the ####### out of them. Problem is, you have to let go before you hurt them. Then they talk ####### as they walk away, but they do walk away, and avoid you in the future.

How many additional shootings would we have if every fight ended when the loser pulled out a gun and shot the other person?

This whole idea that it's technically legal if you are in "fear for your life" is hard to apply because what I think is a beating and George thinks is near death is miles apart. So in my reasonable mind I'd tell Georgie, "all fights are scary the first time, put a bandaids on those cuts".

They had his legal instructor on the phone on TV and he read George's statement about "what he wanted out of this class" and he stated pretty much everything he tried to prove in his statement to police. It was kind of chilling to know he was thinking and wanting to learn the legal definition of "self defense".

It is chilling to you to know that someone wants to truly learn and thoroughly understand the law? You do know that in the CCW classes the concepts of self-defense and what is and what is not acceptable use of a weapon are taught right?

We'd have fewer fights.

LOL you're probably right

No, we'd have more shootings.

You act like everyone having a gun will prevent mans anger...oh please.

Everyone has a gun in Iraq and I wouldn't call them safe.

You don't need a class in this state...just pass a background check.

It was chilling that his statement mirrored his details about the event. It's no coincidence that he checked ever box to make it legal...even forgetting he had a firearm.

These compare the violent death rates in Iraq at the height of the war in 2006 with the violent death rates in various US cities.

I don't ACT like anything. It's simple math. In case you forgot, your question was, "How many additional shootings would we have if every fight ended when the loser pulled out a gun and shot the other person?" My response was that we'd probably have less fights.

If every person that wins a fight ends up dead, then they wont be fighting again. Explaining things to you is a tiring job, but I guess someone has to do it.

Maybe Iraq is not safe, I don't know. I'd bet that people don't just jump on other people and start pounding their head in to the pavement. Sounds like a good way to end up dead if there's alot of people carrying firearms.

The only good thing I can see coming out of this trial is that maybe people will be more hesitant to start pounding on people for no good reason. They might get shot and possibly killed by doing so.
