You mean something like this case. The latest update I could find was dated back in March. Why do you suppose the media is keeping this one out of the national headlines. Could it be because it paints a bad media image of black teens thugs? Or could it really be because the media did not want anything to possibly add credence to the Zimmerman defense claim of self-defense from a thug? Why is it not cultural. I live in a place where almost all the crime is committed by young black males. In almost every picture they are under 25, wearing baggy pants and hoodies. Why would someone that fit the age, manner of dress, and race of the people who had been committing the crime in the neighborhood not draw attention. It was out of place. He fit the profile. he was unknown and just standing around in the rain. Certainly more suspicious than the black neighbor of Georges walking to the mailbox. Remember the one who testified what a good guy GZ was.

Looks do mater. A black friend of mine told me once. The people at the bank treat me different when I go in dressed nice and talk White, then when i go in and work clothes and use slang. I told him, No shat they do me also.

Unfortunately that common prejudice is not covered by the constitution nor in US law. I think they mention the word "equal" more than a few times in the constitution and the bill of rights or are we only acknowledging the 2nd amendment as gospel and the rest are not universally applicable to ALL?

We as a country like to spout on about all the freaking "freedoms" we enjoy, in the freest country in the history of the world? Is that only for people who "act and speak white"? Or does it include my right to dress and talk any flipping way I see fit? I could give a rats @ss how offended or uncomfortable people feel if I'm not breaking any laws. That's MY RIGHT as a free man.

With two half sleeves of tattoos I know what I was getting into when I got them. And now at 50 I give even less of a s#it what people really think.

Just because people choose to treat certain people different based on appearance or speech does not make it illegal or unequal, UNTIL they violate my rights in any way. Their are no laws for a way to look, talk or a way to dress in the US as long as it's not indecent. Where is this dress code written because I didn't see it? Call the police all you want. That's your right.

If I want to dress like the cartoon above that's my GD business.

I served to defend the Constitution and certainly at the very least protect my inalienable rights to life, liberty and to pursue MY happiness. I did not serve to enforce or support anyone's ingrained prejudice on how we should all look.

My opinion is that if you don't like how I look and talk...look somewhere else. Period.

If he's guilty it may be dropped on him, yet his wife will be convicted based on the phone calls.

If he's acquitted his wife at the very least will get a purgatory conviction. I don't believe GZ directly stated in court to the contrary about the finances, but I could be wrong about his statements on that.

I don't believe in purgatory. That was a scam created to sell indulgences to the gullible during the European Middle Ages by a corrupt church hierarchy.

Agree 100% it is your right to dress as you please. It is also peoples right to have a different opinion of you for that. Once again, thinking someone looks suspicious or following them to see what they are up to is not a crime. Beating their face in is.

N.S. After 18 months, he should have been able to handle himself. After 12 mos, he should have been an asst. instructor. We were competing against other schools after 6 months.

I can teach anybody how to do an effective reverse punch in about fifteen minutes, a backhand strike in another fifteen minutes, and by the end of an hour, they would be doing combinations. It takes longer to teach people how not to get hurt when they fall.
