Not true. They did not both do that.

Links please to where each of them did that.

Laws they were breaking:

Koresh: possession of illegal firearms

Kokesh: open carry of a weapon and drug possession

Raids on their property for above suspected illegal activity:

Kokesh: http://reason.com/blog/2013/07/10/swat-team-raids-home-of-libertarian-acti

Issues with gun laws:

Koresh: Posessions of firearms that were illegal for civilians to posess included automatic firearms and grenades.

Kokesh: Open carry of a weapon in DC and gun possession felony.

Extremism, hotheadedness, fanaticism, self appointed leader of a movement, etc.

something is sketchy.

Was Kokesh also raided for illegal possession of automatic weapons? (not firearms...a slight difference...corrected your sketchy memory) It has been 20 years and my memory is not the least bit sketchy about that.

Was kokesh committing other illegal activity behind closed doors with children?

Look, you said the "two are similar in many ways" and have not indicated even ONE way in which they are similar. Keep trying

I think you are having difficulties separating the statement of saying that two are similar in many ways from the idea that they are exactly alike.

Differentiate the two and you will understand better. I never stated the latter.

And I listed several. So I don't know why you are saying that I have not listed one. Reading comprehension issues?

Funny. Nature Boy is saying Koresh did nothing wrong, not like Kokesh, and Gary is saying the opposite.

Was the three year difference in age thing in effect back when? Sex with a minor where you are more that three years the senior is statutory rape, even if past the age of consent for that minor?

Don't know. Don't care. The guy was a creep.

Kokesh did this also?

Link please. Show me how they are similar in many ways as you said they were.

How does that have anything to do with this topic or the comparison of Kokesh and Koresh?

Nope, Kokesh did not have sex with minors as far as I know. Doesn't discredit my statement that they are similar in many ways though. I never said they were similar in all ways.

Bye. Thanks for dropping in

In Texas? The age of consent has not changed. I lived the first 30 years of my life in Texas.

Along with ignoring the linking of anything relating these two men, (Koresh and Kokesh) you can now refuse to post a link showing the statutory change in the age of consent in Texas. If you are correct it should take about 10 seconds to find it in google.

Otherwise it is just more internet keyboard bullsh*t

Kokesh and Koresh are in no way related in their actions or what they did, your comment was based in ignorance and bias. Just say so. No problem with that.

Of course if it was 14, it would make Texas just another backwater state, where sisters have to run faster than their brothers, if they want to maintain their virtue.

DIdn't see this. Was busy gathering up the other proof Gary wanted.

Here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Koresh

"At the time, in Texas, the age of parental consent for a minor to marry was 14, as was the age for consent to engage in sexual relations. In the documentary film, Waco: The Rules of Engagement (long version), Jack Harwell, Sheriff of McLennan County, stated: "You have to have proof to go into court.... Keep in mind, too, that most of the girls who were involved were at least 14 years old and 14-year-olds get married with parental consent. So if their parents were there and letting things happen in the way of sexual activities and what have you with their 14-year-old kids, you have common law husbands and wives. I don't say that I agree with that and that I approve of it. But at the same time, if parents are there and they're giving parental consent, we have a problem with that in making a case."

Yes, whenever confronted with reality, Gary takes a hike.

Guess he was hoping I wouldn't provide any proof he wanted. Explains why he was so quick to accuse me of doing that while I was busy gathering it up for him.

It's not worth the effort to engage in a discussion with Gary. It's like trying to play chess with a pigeon.

It was very apparent he fathered children from up to 24 different women, many of them still teenagers. I do see that the legal age of consent at the time was 14, so perhaps he didn't break the law on that - I stand corrected.

Still it's hard for me to be able to sympathize on the side of a 34 year old leader who had regular sex with 14 year olds in the name of religion. All I can feel is disgust over that before I can even begin to even try and justify against any badly executed attempts to arrest the man. If you and others can, so be it.

Did not say I agreed with him or did not find his views repulsive.. I was defending his right to live in peace and be stupid. First and foremost I am all about the rights of the individual. I believe in the right of a person to be and support anything the wish as long as their right stop at my rights.

That is why I am Conservative yet support Gay marriage, polygamy , abortion rights, contraceptive rights, gun rights, free speech rights, right to assisted suicide, basically anything a mentally sound adult can consent to that does not deprive another citizen of their rights is ok with me.

The caveat being don't ask me to fund it, witness it or condone it.

Example-Don't ask the collective whole to stay out of your reproductive choices then demand we fund them.

C. I have no idea idea how to respond to the overwhelming facts you presented, so I will just call you a nut job **/rwnj with zero reading comprehension insult you and move on, and claim I already answered the question. ( this covers the tin foil hat stupidity)

None of this I would be against either, but this guy was boning minors, and that I don't consider to be a right of an individual.

It's weird how excited some people get at the idea of a riot.

And how most of those people aren't the ones who are predicted to riot.

Burn, baby, burn !

I'm looking forward to the imminent destruction in Sanford.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

No sir we strongly agree on this, but none of it was ever proven and whispers of something do not, qualify an all out army assault and having your compound burned down or in the case of randy Weaver having your wife's head blown off, while she stand with a baby in her arms by an open window.

I probably agree with you on this, but, again, it is hard for me to sympathize or focus on that because of the issue with minors - as that takes the bulk of my emotion and sympathy. I guess the difference between you and I is just that - our area of focus. We probably agree otherwise.

Dude did you hijack my thread? LOL

In New Orleans the police actively confiscated firearms from law abiding citizens in violation of the US and Louisiana Constitutions. They were later fined and ordered to return the confiscated firearms. Subsequent state legislation has made any such future attempt to disarm the populace a felony. They did not confiscate firearms from criminals. Where citizens retained their firearms there were no riots.

There were no riots in Mississippi, an area far more devasted than New Orleans. New Orleans had virtually NO damage from Katrina, the damage came from subsequent flooding when the levies did not hold. Had the levies held, life in NOLA would have been back to normal by noon that day. Mississippi was devasted, nearly wiped off the map, and there were no riots, virtually no looting and people were openly armed. There were 31 named storms that year, more than the alphabet could handle...Rita destroyed SE Texas and LA border area...no looting, no riots and no shooting. People openly armed themselves.

Despite all the storms all the devastation and all the areas affected, ONLY in New Orleans, where the police attempted to disarm good people was there any rioting and looting. That year, and Katrina in particular, is one of the most incredible displays of the difference between armed populations and disarmed populations that has ever been witnessed. It has been the supporting evidence for dozens of new laws to protect the rights of firearms owners in the wake of natural disasters and is a very graphic display of how fragile our "civilization" is when a population of people entirely dependent on government for every need in life is deprived of those things even for a few days. One of the most telling of was the contention that the storm came "at a bad time of the month". The 29th. The welfare and food stamps for that month were depleted and everyone had to stay because they had no money, little food and needed to receive their new "recharge" of their EBT food stamps and EBT cash on the 1st of the month. Independent people could simply walk a few hundred yards to higher ground, go to supermarkets a few miles away and buy whatever they need, or drive away in their cars, rent a motel room and come back when it was safe. NOT if you are dependent on government and government vanishes.

The disaster in New Orleans was entirely and completely man-made. It had nothing to do with global warming or a natural disaster, it had nothing to do with NOLA being below sea level...it had everything to do with a dependent population, poor construction due to official corrupton, local officials who passed the buck and ignored their duties to their constituents.

Biloxi, MS was back up, the lights on and the Casinos thriving within 3 months. 5 years after Katrina there were still thousands of people living in FEMA trailers in NOLA. This is the difference between people who believe they CAN vs. people who are told "You CAN'T"

There will be no riots in Florida and I am very excited about that. In fact, I am even more excited about that than in justice being upheld for GZ.

I was transferred to Waveland and you are correct. Folks were camped out over their devastated properties and there was no rioting. Every single one of them were openly armed.

i don't get it.

Nothing was ever discovered or proven in relation to child abuse.

Some were convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of the jack booted thugs of the ATF, that attacked and massacred so many innocent kids.

+1 for jack booted thugs LOL

i don't get it.
