Also they have other posts relating to the NVC and I believe that DCF is done completely by the embassy. Right?

Yeah. Maybe they had it set wrong, and they've corrected it now? Or I was blind (just as likely). I'm assuming they're non-dcf now, unless they say otherwise.

I've seen others with their profile set to DCF even though I know they can't be doing DCF... I think people just forget to change that part of the profile! (or where it is... I had to direct someone in site updates to that their profile needed to be changed vs their timeline. ;) )

This isn't the DCF forum. If the OP has filed for DCF then they should say so so that someone can move the post to the appropriate forum.

According to their timeline they have not.

They can't file DCF directly through Doha anymore but they can get expedited approval through the NBC by filing from overseas as an overseas petitioner.

This appears, from the timeline, to be what they did.

With this in mind and when it gets to the embassy it was suggested that the I864 match the category/classification that they filed under.

As to where the thread is posted, petitions from countries without CIS offices are processed through the NBC but really are a category in themselves in that they are processed on an expedited basis. I agree with where and how this thread was posted.

Though it is not "DCF" or "filed through the consulate" the complete package needs to look like and have the same information as one that is.

i don't get it.

So you suggest to use the usa address for all 3 questions? i feel since i have included the foreign address on my I 130 and g 325a, it would be more consistent if i mention the mailing address & domicile as usa and place of residence as qatar - and then i can include the proof of domicile in usa.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/441414-domicile-on-i-864-cant-we-just-mention-usa/?p=6367958

Not for DCF bro.

The whole process of DCF revolves around eligiblity for DCF which means you have to first "prove" that you are domiciled in the country you file.

Once you file then it is a matter of ensuring that your subsequent package makes sense/is consistent with the DCF petition. It looks like the OP has done that and will be OK

agree !

OP isn't a DCF filer, so that's a plus.

The I-864 has bits and pieces in there about proving up USA Domicile. She already has a USA domicile, so that's not the issue.

Her income level is the issue, and thankfully, she's got a joint sponser to handle the $ amounts.

Is it coincidental that her USA domicile address is her father's address? No, not at all - it's actually quite important.

I actually thought this was a DCF, did the OP change their visa setting type?

Regardless, I still think your advice about US address is most accurate, Niki.

Even if they are DCF, the petitioner needs to show foreign domicile to qualify for the filing of the i-130, not the visa application done by the beneficiary itself. It's normal/common for the USC half of a DCF couple to move back to the US ahead in order to meet the US domicile requirements, so if there is a US address available for the i864, it's almost always going to be the most straight forward address to use. Of course, some embassies may be more finickity about this than others.

I don't know much about the DCF system so I love hearing more about it to learn. Thanks for the good info! I really appreciate it! smile.png

Their timeline says national benefit center?

US embassy Qatar does not accept DCF routinely, as an exception maybe, at their discretion. However i filed the regular way to chicago lockbox

my profile does show the normal I-130 CR1 petition.

Yes, i was processed at NBC.

I have went ahead and put ahead my mailing address & domicile as US, and resident address as Qatar.my dad who is also co-sponsor also is at the same address.thankfully income is not an issue, and since i travel to US frequently i think domicile is well covered.

i just noticed the new posts here, what i came to know about DCF is if a embassy accepts a DCF the NVC process is totally skipped and handled by DOS / foreign USEM.
