Oh this is nice to hear but I have some questions for you guys who just recieved this good news. I am a June 21 transfer from Vermont to Texas...We got our NOA2 on July 10th. I wonder if we will have to wait as long you did for your case number...Also what is the difference between having your application sent to NVC or DOS ? Thanks for helping us out with these questions. Take care !!!!

Well, there are still other transfers who have not gotten a notice regarding the transfer to DOS... We have to see this week if we have the NVC case number to be sure. My take on this is that if everyone (including those approved petitions that didnt received the transfer notice to DOS) everything will be a smooth process for the rest of the transfers.

There are other post that said there papers are rerouted back to vermont before going to nvc that took a long time thats why they just sent them out after 3weeks. Given that TSC doesnt process I129F petitons maybe they have some errors along the way. Maybe at this point they are somehow familiar with the process.

Regarding NVC/DOS I am not that sure. But I think this will help according to Yahoo LOL

National Visa Center (NVC): A private company located in Portsmouth, New Hampshire that processes certain immigration filings under contract with the U.S. Department of State (DOS). In appropriate cases, NVC receives approved green card petitions from USCIS or DOS and continues the green card process by sending forms and instructions to the applicant, receiving the forms and supporting documents back from the applicant, and then forwarding the applicants file to the proper U.S. embassy or consulate abroad.

We got approved July 5th, we receive a letter that yesterday telling ours was sent to the consulate?? Why is that??? What about NVC or DOS??

It always says it got sent to the consulate. It didn't. It goes through NVC first.

1/4/13 - I129-F Sent | 1/8/13 - Received by USCIS
1/10/13 - NOA1 to VSC | 1/11/13 - Text/Email | 1/17/13 - Hard Copy Received
1/16/13 - Alien Registration Number changed
5/24/13 or 5/29/13 - Case Transferred to TSC
7/2/13 - NOA2 from TSC! (173 days from NOA1) | 7/6/13 - Hard Copy Received

You can pay for and schedule the interview yes, but you cannot schedule the medical exam, as it is a walk in service.

Yes you can schedule Interview. Medical exam is not scheduled. You just go there. It is first come first serve. You can pre register on their website to save time. Make sure to give enough time for your case to reach Manila and do the medical exam. Typically you need 1 week between medical and interview or that is what they request from you.

Yes good point. You need to pay the visa fee first them wait 4-5 hours after paying to schedule. We paid ours already so I forgot about that.

I got a case number!!!!! I can't believe it! I was a late May VSC to TSC & got a noticed on July 10th that my file was sent to DOS! Everyone's case number is coming soon!!!!
