Hello,

Our K-3 has been approved & we are now awaiting a response from the embassy for our interview date.

We just have a few questions about the affidavit I-134.

* I receive child support payments monthly. Do they consider this as income? If so, how do you specify this on the form?

* Is it possible for a sponser to use ONLY their assets to show support? For example I have a family member that will be a sponser but she does not want to disclose her employment information. She has offered to show retirement & savings statements only. If this is possible, how can this be documented on the form?

* How does the embassy verify the support information?

Thanks so much, you've all been a great help!!! xoxo

cheyma,

Point of clarification: your K3 visa application cannot be approved until after you have had an interview at the consulate.

* Show your total income on "the form" (you mean I-134, yes?) and on an attached sheet list the various sources of income that make up the total. Also provide supporting documentation as appropriate for each source.

* Interesting question. A sponsor can show whatever they want to show, and withhold whatever they want to withhold, and the consular officer will make a determination based on what has been shown. The first thing they look for is income.

* The consular officer will verify the claimed income and assets by examining the supporting documentation that has been provided for each item of income and each item of asset.
