Hi All: if you're in Southern California and you want your marriage certificate quick-quick so you can AOS, Santa Barbara is the place to go. I checked with LA County, Ventura County, and Orange County, and they all said 4 weeks is the quickest you can get it. SB County can get it done in one day (because of the proximity of Vandenburg AFB, perhaps, and military folk who need to get their paperwork quickly). You just request and emergency recording and they do it, that day or the next.

We got married in San Diego, the marriage certificate was ready in less than a week. Marriage on Friday, it was filed on the following Monday, available for pick-up on Tuesday.

We got married at Norwalk LA County Recorder and we got our marriage certificate in a week not the 4 weeks as indicated on the receipt.

I see you got married several months ago, though. They told me on the phone a couple weeks ago that there was "no way" I'd get it sooner than 4 weeks.
