Hi blsuda!!!

I also got the following notices regarding my I-129F petition (I have only received the hard-copy, paper notice for one of the three email notices...)

Email: On February 25, 2014, we transferred this case I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) to another office for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action.

US Mail: This is to advise you that in order to speed up processing we have transferred the above case to the following USCIS office for processing: Texas Service Center, P.O. Box 851488 - Dept. A, Mesquite, TX 75185-1488

(my petition was originally sent to the Vermont Service Center upon acceptance)

Email: On February 25, 2014, we transferred your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E), to your local USCIS Office for further processing.

(my local office would be Baltimore, Maryland)

Email: The I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) was transferred and is now being processed at a USCIS office.

Based on the previous posts it appears they process the visas in "batches" so we may be together and have a similar experience.

In which office did your petition originate? Are you pursuing a K1, K2, and/or K3 visa?

My husband and I are pursuing a K3 Visa. All of our petitions were mailed to the Chicago Lockbox. Our I-130 NOA1 (Acceptance) came on January 8 and indicated the petition was sent to Vermont. Our I-129F NOA1 (Acceptance) came on February 6 and indicated that petition was also sent to Vermont. I have not received any subsequent notices for the I-130 petition.

I'm curious why they are sending my applications all over (Chicago to Vermont to Texas, possibly to Baltimore, and then to another USCIS office?). I am also wondering whether they have actually processed anything yet... BUT - I'm optimistic! The previous posters all seemed to get an "Acceptance" letter 1-2 months after their cases were transferred...

A girl can dream, right?

GOOD LUCK TO US!!!!! good.gif

I can only guess when we will get approved... but I have a good feeling about it!

In the previous posts it looks really varied... some were approved as early as 2 weeks after the transfer notice, others 1-2 months. The good thing is this means they are actually doing SOMETHING with the petition. I will post again if I get additional notifications. Since we have almost identical timelines so far I am sure we are in the same batch.

Hello blsuda!

When someone "touches" your application it quite literally means that they have touched it... By way of illustration: Every morning a USCIS officer will go to work and upon arrival they will grab a box of petitions that they plan to work on that day. When they get their box they will scan each petition in the box in order for the computer system to take note that Officer X has the petition at that time. Once Officer X is done working with the petition they will scan it again, letting the computer system know that Officer X no longer has possession of the petition. Let's say that Officer Y takes the petition next to work on it, then Officer Y will scan the petition as well. Each time the petition is "touched" that means that it has been scanned into the system by someone who is working on it. However, that does not necessarily mean that there was any progress made on the petition... Officer X may get your petition, scan it, and then after looking at the petition decide that it is complicated and they want to work on a different, more simple petition, in which case Officer X might set your petition aside without having done any work on it. I got this information from a Question and Answer with a former USCIS Officer that I found on this website, however it is from 2007 so it is likely some of the policies and procedures at USCIS have changed since then. Here is the link - http://www.visajourney.com/content/adjudicator-q-and-a

The good news is - this means you are getting closer because someone is actually doing SOMETHING to your petition, besides transferring it all over the US!

If you were asking me to comment on the fact that your petition was sent to Nebraska when your closest Service Center is in California, I am not sure what I can say... I have read online that the California Service Center processes the most cases and consequently takes the longest to process. I am sure the purpose of this transfer was for a faster processing time (which is always a good thing!). For example, my application was sent to the Texas Service Center even though the closest Service Center to Baltimore, Maryland is actually the Vermont Service Center. The letter accompanying my transfer notice indicated the transfer was in order to process my application faster.

I am confident the transfer and "touched" notice are both good things... I hope this helped!

Hello blsuda!

I received an email notification this morning that read, "your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)."

I'm not sure what this latest notice means as far as the processing of my petition and timeline goes...

I can't comment on your VJ timeline because I have not looked at this feature on the VJ website before. But your VJ timeline estimate worries me... if your NOA1 was October 18, 2013 and adjudication of your petition is predicted for June-July, then my adjudication will be MUCH later as my NOA1 was on February 6, 2014..... I guess we will see.

GOOD LUCK TO US! POSITIVE THOUGHTS!!! good.gif

Hi,

Seems the message which u got recently "alien registration number changed to ####'. This message I had until my case was transferred. i don't really understand why they updated your case to that status. Anyways we will be getting good things soon.. :)

About VJ Timelines: I think they have calculated +5 months after transferred the case to service center. (This is incorrect)

As they mentioned on my NOA T hard copy that 'If you wont get any decision or any NOA within 60 days should contact customer support'. Also most of the members got Approvals with in 1 month after case got transferred

Thanks,

Blsuda

blsuda,

I cannot provide any relevant timelines because, as I said in my previous post, I still have not explored the timelines feature of VisaJourney. I also cannot comment on your timeline as it appears you are very far ahead of me. For example, I have not received any notification regarding my I-130 aside from its acceptance and transfer to Vermont (even though my I-129F was transferred from Vermont to Texas last month, so now the applications are not even in the same place....) I have not even received paper copies explaining the last two NOA-T email notices that I got last month or the changed alien registration number that I got notice of this month.

Blsuda, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Do you mind posting the next steps of your visa journey? What comes next? Did your approval notice for the I-129F and the I-130 come via email or in a hard-copy via the postal service? Also, I never asked where all of your mail notifications were received... I have received all of mine here in the USA and my fiance in Brasil has not received anything related to our petitions. Should he have received letters? Also, when you received notice that your petitions were accepted, did the notice include information regarding your beneficiairy's medical/interview/etc? I am also wondering why I have not received any notifications regarding my I-130, aside from the notice that they received it.

Thank you in advance for your help!
