Hi everybody! (:

This whole visa process seems to confuse me at times, so I thought maybe some of you could help me.

Today, my case status was updated to "Request for More Evidence". I guess my main question at this time is that does that mean my processing times restart? My fiancé and I filed in April, and I didn't think we'd hear anything until at least September...but now after receiving the RFE does that mean the 5 months starts over (bottom of the pile again) or does the evidence I send go directly to the person who is initially handling my case?

Hopefully that all makes sense and thank you all in advance!!!

Have a wonderful day heart.gif

No - your case is essentially paused. They've got to your file and they've found a problem with it, and they're asking you for that information.

You'll get a letter, it'll tell you what they need to know. Follow that and send it back. Once it gets back to them, they'll look at your case and approve/deny it. Rarely, they'll send another RFE.

An RFE is actually sort of good news - it means they've got to your case, and assuming you respond quickly to their RFE with what they need, your case will be adjudicated very soon! smile.png

When I had Rfe, I had to wait just one more month to resume what they (USCIS) left off.
