1. Once receive visa, how long can parent wait until entering the USA before it expires.

Is it possible to delay entry just incase parent not ready to move.

2. Once in the USA, when is the last day the parent must apply to adjust status.

Answers:

1. The visa must be used before the expiration date. Typically (but not always), that is 6 months from the time it is issued. Because that 6 month timeframe is not always the case, it's very important to look at that expiration date.
2. Immigrant visa holders do not adjust status, the green card will arrive a few weeks after entry (the fee will need to be paid before it is sent). The visa with a standard CBP entry stamp on the page next to it allows the visa to act as a temporary green card until the actual one is in hand.

6 months and i think there is no adjustment of status because she will receive a 10 years GC.. if she will stay here in the USA for 5 years she can apply her citizenship... ( as i understand)
