Hi everyone I just had my daughter consular interview yesterday jul/11/13 she is 14, the person in the in the interview told me that I was lying and that he know it, my daughter visa was approved but I notice that he didnt believe one of my answer (he ask me if I knew or was my intention to cross illegally my daughter 12 years ago) my answer was no. I didn't know initially cuz my daugther came with a family member to the border, I use that opportunity to go and see her, on my way back home my ex decide to try to cross her with the help of the family member, I just wonder if I'm in any trouble? I thought I was being honest cuz wasn't my intention

Hi,

You'd have to give us more information on this. From what I can gather, you were with your daughter for a naturalization interview, and the consular officer accused you of lying on some answer. But, it seems everything went well? Are you a citizen or a GC holder right now?

Everything went well, visa for her was approved

but the CO was really mad cuz my answer, since I guess he thought I was involved cuz I was in the border 1 day after my ex wife family try cross her illegally and they got caught

I become a citizen 5 years ago, just wonder if he's accusations will have any impact on myself or my daughter? He didn't said anything besides I was lying he knew it

As a USC it does not matter what the consular officer thinks you 'did do or did not do' 12 years ago. He is there to serve you and other USC's and nothing about you falls under his jurisdiction. Although he may believe you are lying he actually does not have a shred of evidence to prove it which means he does not have a single valid reason to deny your daughter's visa.

This is why it was approved. He's just jacking you up and fishing for what you might say. You said exactly what you should have said - "don't know" and "don't remember" are difficult to prove which is why even PRESIDENTS use those answers to keep themselves out of trouble.

Congrats!

i don't get it.
