I have broken things off with my fiancée because of something that became known thought the medical testing during the K1 process that I didn’t know before I started. I allowed the visa to be processed because I do care for this person even though I choose not to marry her because of this. I thought that if I canceled the petition It would have left her in a bad spot with the embassy (Manila) and she would have even a harder time getting approved if she finds another or even attracting another if they knew what they were up against to get her. Believe me It wasnt good!! Anyway when I found out about the problem it caused me to have to fly to Manila three times this year to deal with it. I jumped through all the embassy hoops to clear her name so she would be ok in the embassy eyes. It was difficult but she was cleared and approved but by getting her approved I never thought about the problems it could cause me.

Since then I have met another that I'm interested in so I’m wondering if I petition this person in the near future will this cause me a problem even though I never fulfilled the visa of my X-fiancée? This has all happened over the last year and I figure if things go well I will petition a K1 again next year.

IMBRA waiver will be required upon third petition filed regardless of time lapse or if a previous petition was approved and it has been less than two years time.

YMMV

Yes but I have good reason! I have small children and the problem was a mental issue and it was a serious one but I managed to clear her name at the embassy. I just dont want to make a mistake with my kids! If it were just me and didnt involve my kids it would have been different...im sure you would have question this yourself if you were in my shoes.

It's not that you dumped her, you went ahead with the visa when you shoulda called it off, and now you are ready for a new model (true love does not fade so quickly), one that's illness free! God, think about how callous your post sounds.

The law of unexpected consequences - another example of why people should not be so quick to dismiss the idea of having a consultation with an immigration attorney before making important decisions.

Yodrak,

Your right I defiantly should have started with a consultation with an attorney but at the time my thoughts were about what was right for her and not me. If I had canceled the petition I’m sure it would have been worse for her and I’m sure I can deal with the problems it will cause me....so I made the right decision.

I know everybody wants to make me out to be this bad...heartless person but I am not that and like I said if it didn’t involve my kids my decision would have been different but this is a person I’m trusting with the most important part of my life...."MY KIDS"! So it was my fiancée or my kids....I choose to make sure my kids would be ok. Maybe others would have made a different decision. It’s easy to say you would have done it different and I didn’t come here to be judged anyway....nobody here is in my shoes or knows the full extent of this problem. The embassy doesn’t ether….if they would have found out everything she would have been totally ineligible for a visa.

So if your here to judge me pls keep your comments to yourself.
