How did you end up in California SC? Are you a out of country filer? or expedite case?

nope. just filed in nevada where the petioner resides, no expedite request.

You applied for an I130 and sent your petition to CSC?

no petition at all. csc was where my case was assigned, i-130 approval was almost instant and from there, took 1.5-2mts to get to nvc for case number to be assigned.

Now that was speedy! I wish all of the petitions would be processed so quickly.

Congratulations!

thank you. i believe its good info for everyone since speedy cases = caught up nvc

In another thread, someone mentioned that the new National benefits center in Overland Park, KS will begin processing petitions on Sept 28th (3 days from today). So hopefully we will begin to see people getting approved. Most people filing as of May and after had their petitions sent to the NBC in KS. Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Not sure where people are getting these specific dates from, but that's close enough to the end of the fiscal new year. Since the 28th is a Saturday, I hope they process cases 24 hours/day, seven days a week!

Yeah, I think people are too literal about the end of fiscal year. The statement in the NBC-AILA document was USCIS "anticipates" Division 8 to start adjudicating "by the end" of Fiscal year; the key words being anticipates and end of. End of means any time after September. It can also mean anytime after October.

From what I read so far, only ppl that are getting NOA2s from Overland park KS are expedited requests.

Hopefully that department will function on time. After all, it is a government establishment and they are known to hire the best and the brightest Kansas has to offer..........

Does anyone have any idea on how bad the likely government shutdown could have on our applications? This is just going from bad to worse if a shutdown occurs before the new facility even starts operating!!!

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.
