thanks dwipal.

I posted this on the NVC thread and its super active and thus its hard to find mumbai person. So let me ask my question here-

I am very shortly going to visit India and I was curious with regards to the medical exam. Can I get it done or do I have to wait until my wife is assigned an interview date? What is it that Rele clinic in Gamdeve need? I am working on getting her PCC and other documents while I briefly visit her. I know I am thinking too much ahead right now, but do you have any idea?

I apologize folks, I understand this is not the thread to discuss the NVC process for those anxiously waiting for their noa2's. I wish you ALL good luck.

Congratulations. I am a July filer too. About Medical Exam my understanding is that you need to get the Interview Letter in hand before you can get the Medical done.

Prior to the interview, all immigrant visa applicants (regardless of age) must undergo a physical examination by a panel physician designated by the Consulate. Only authorized doctors may complete this examination. Applicants should contact the panel facility directly to make an appointment for the examination after they receive their interview appointment letters. To help the panel physician make as accurate a report as possible, applicants should discuss their medical history and current conditions, such as pregnancy, diabetes, hypertension, or any other conditions, as well as medications taken, with the panel physician. We strongly suggest that applicants take all their old medical records with them for the medical examination.

My wife (or her parents) can not find her immunization shot records, So I am asking her to start taking those shots starting now. So she will have the immunizations done by the time of her Medical with the US Consulate panel doctor (Hyderabad). Otherwise, she will be given all the immunization shots on the same day, which could be very painful (also lot more expensive).

She needs to walk in with the following when she goes for Medical:

For each family member, bring

 Original appointment letter

 Passport

 Three recent photographs

 All medical records of vaccinations, prior illnesses or treatments. You must discuss your medical history and current conditions – pregnancy, diabetes, hypertension and other conditions and medications taken – with the physician.

so he says that the medical is only valid for 3-4 months and it needs to be valid until your wife comes here. he told me to do it after we receive the case #.

I do not think that is correct, You need to wait till you get the Interview Appointment letter to be able to get your Medical done.

Look on the bright side - at least someone looked at your file! It's not lost in a back office! :)

Hopefully it's something simple you can knock over easily.

This can be expalined by the fact that both I-129F and I-130 are processed together. They will approve both of them at the same time. They will wait for the I-130 RFE to approved both. They are trying to render I-129F useless as much as they can.

But right now, with the delays at NVC on I-130, some I-129F make it all the way.

We received an email with this today:

On March 18, 2014, your address was changed relating to the I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN that you filed.

We haven't changed our address. Is this similar to the alien registration number emails? Is there hope that they're working on our file?!

***Edit: hmm.. Ok.. Nevermind. They responded to our service request just to say that it's with an officer and... Keep waiting. Sigh.

Looking at https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/processingTimesDisplay.do, the processing time for NSC for I-130 applications has been updated to 5 months. Does this mean that all petitions sitting with USCIS (sent to NSC) for more than 5 months are now officially outside processing times? Making it easier to lodge service requests?

That's exactly what it means. I just submitted a service request on-line a few minutes ago and it went through successfully and gave me a SR number and a date of April 9 to expect an answer.
