I'm not very knowledgeable about all this yet....maybe in a year of dealing with the delays I will be lol.

Are all I130 sent to NBC? Or only stand alone files? Are I130 sent with adjustment 485 forms sent to NBC too?

Reason I ask is I was checking up random MSC case numbers around mine. I see approvals on I130 from end June to early July. My PD is July 5. So how come those are approved? Or can those be cases where it's not stand alone I130 and case was transferred to a local office that was fast?

Just trying to understand.....

Hmm. That is interesting. Are you sure that those MSC numbers are i-130? They can be for other applications. Visa journey only has a microcosm of the applications. Even though, the entries in VJ can be considered random, it is not large enough to be good pool. I am not sure about the 485 adjustment of status. I think they are dealt at the local level.

I have noted a couple approved in this week to be mid June and early July. But then again these may just be cases for oversea filers or those filing with adjustment of status 485 concurrent (meaning sent to local field office). It's puzzling me so badly now.... When were the applications stated to be sent to overland Kansas? Is there a rhyme to this craziness....

This is just so frustrating. The more I wander these forums the more depressed and frustrated I get. We paid good hard earned money for these papers to be filed in a timey fashion, not for them to just sit in some room while we wait in agony to be with our loved ones. It's ridiculous and just not fair.

Now, I've heard talk of the I-130's going to the petitioners local office, mine is Massachusetts. So does that mean it will be transferred to Boston?? If so they do not show an estimated timeline for processing the I-130. Geez, will I ever know anything.

I've learned some things, but I believe that all of us still don't know plenty... For example, I'd really like to know how you can look up MSC case numbers to see approvals... Do you find this by looking up your case number + and - a few numbers on the USCIS website?? Or some other way?

My understanding is that the new Division 8 facility in Overland Park, Kansas will only process standalone I-130's. This is what the memo of the meeting between the AILA and USCIS said - at least, that's where I remember gaining that information. Also, and from the same source, that the I-130s received since May would await the opening of the new facility in the end of Sept. But we've seen from the reports of filers prior to May, that their cases were given an MSC number, and were assigned to NBC, and that few of their cases were decided. I'm thinking of May and April filers.

I've heard conflicting info, about the role of the local field offices from print sources and from the mouths of USCIS officials on the phone. I've heard that 1) some I-130s would be farmed out to field offices to diminish the work load of the NBC; 2) that only I-130s with 485's would be sent to local field offices; 3) that no I-130s can be farmed out to the field offices.

Ok, I did go to the USCIS case status website and altered my case's numbers some to find out what's happening with other cases.... I guess that is what you did. Interesting, but I did not learn anything worth reporting. I can see, though, that in time this may be a useful trick to know where we stand.

I am probably nuts to be spending hours typing random case numbers in to see....

Patterns I noted...there have been approvals for late June/Early July in the last one week or so. Again could be overseas filers, cases that were not stand alone and were sent to local USCIS offices, or even spouses/children of permanent residents, not just CR1/IR1. No way to know that.

Other pattern I noted is you'd think the cases in consecutive order means priority dates are also in order, but that is NOT the case. So let's say case number 1000 is PD of April 5, then PD 1026 could still be PD of April 3. So I guess they may put boxes aside and get back to it or something. Makes no sense.

Another pattern at NBC noted is tshere are times when a good 100 cases are one type of application (saw a block of I90/ replacement green cards). So maybe they stop and work on a specific type of application at time?

Just some observations.

I need to do better stuff with my time.

I feel really sorry for people who are separated from their loved ones.

I am lucky (so far) to be with my USC husband. My case is bit unique in that I already have a pending adjustment 485 based on work but got married and filed a stand alone I130. Waiting for that approval then would request USCIS to convert my pending 485 on basis of I130. Just wanted to avoid paying again, the RFE, Medical, etc.

Any case. I pray for everyone to get approvals soon. I really do. I just want it done with. Been legally living in this country for 23 years...lol yeah you heard it right...many said get married for GC but I never did until I truly fell in love and found my soulmate. So praying. I pray for all.

I think so Lakehouse. The NYC field office as of June 2013 had nearly 42 thousand I-130 petitions that were not even touched yet - pending adjucation status. They also received over 5600 new applications to add to their existing pile!

If in fact our petition is headed to NYC, this will likely mean months and months of our petition sitting on a shelf before they decide to get around to it cray5ol.gif

I along with everyone here must remain strong and positive. This process is truly a test of the relationship for those with spouses processing outside of the US.

If you get though this, you can pretty much surmount anything life throws at you.

Just wanted to update and let you know that our petition was transferred to the Nebraska service center as we received the hard copy notice.

I know that many F-2A I-130 petitions were transferred to Nebraska and ours was initially submitted as a F-2A but we upgraded it in August to CR-1 because my husband became a USC.

I am absolutely relieved it didn't end up at the NYC field office and I just hope that this transfer signals a somewhat faster processing.

Best wishes to all going through this process!

Is the receipt number somewhat continuous? My priority date in July 1st. 3500 numbers before mine has a i-130 priority date of June 28th. That is scary. I am aware there can other applications like EAD, i-90 etc. Still, if they are continuous, then it is scary that they have 3500 applications of all type in just 4 days. That is a very overwhelming number if there are in fact approx >3000 applications.
