Will this never end???

RFE for I-130 on 20th Feb, no letter received by 1st March, my hubbie went on a family vacation 2nd March so not sure if letter arrived yet, but we got I-129f RFE on 4th March.

Oh my gosh! I was thinking of filing an i129 K3 & K4 since an attorney I spoke to said it wouldn't hurt & maybe get my wife and daughter here quicker from the Philippines. But now that I'm seeing what happened to you, it seems they're trying to railroad people anyway they can. This is ridiculous!

I sent a message to the author of this story at the New York Times asking her to do a follow up story on this.

www.nytimes.com/2014/02/09/us/program-benefiting-some-immigrants-extends-visa-wait-for-others.html?_r=1

Here is where you can also send her a message and maybe shed some light onto our issues with USCIS.

https://myaccount.nytimes.com/membercenter/emailus.html

This is the email I wrote to the author of the story.

Good morning Ms. Preston.
Thank you for your article that was just pointed out to me from a fellow member at www.visajourney.com. Visa Journey is the largest forum on the internet where people like me are trying to get their loved ones into the country via USCIS's immigration laws. We share our own personal stories, experiences and all the tools we need in order to go through the application process. The people there are very supportive and have either gone through the process already or are in the process. My screen name is Jhonster there. This is a thread started for those who applied for the i130 Visa in July of last year to see what difficulties they are experiencing with USCIS.
www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/441102-july-2013-i-130-filers/page-147#entry6859596
I would appreciate it if you did a follow up story on this and maybe pressured the director of USCIS Alejandro Mayorkas for some accountability for his departments boondoggle.
I filed my i130 back on July 25th of 2013 and have seen a comedy of errors that initially held up my application by mistakes made by data entry people at USCIS. Wrong birthdates and wrong street addresses that I put correctly on my application were transferred into their database incorrectly from my application. This caused the initial delays making my application just sit at the Missouri Center till November. Not until I had to contact my Congressman did the file move at all. Once I looked at the processing times on USCIS's website did I realize that the Missouri Service Center was backlogged 1 1/2 years. I flipped out when I saw this, especially when the California Service Center (where I live) was backed up only 7 months.
My file was moved to the Texas Service Center where they immediately used another stalling tactic, they issued an RFE (request for evidence of a bona fide marriage) almost immediately. This stalled the file for another month (till Dec 31st 2013). Now after they got all the proof they needed from me, it's March 6th, 2013. I've called 3 times since Jan 1st 2014. I've gotten stories from "We're now doing a security check" to they actually don't even know exactly what the hold up is. Why? Why am I getting different stories every time I call them? Because their customer service line can't actually speak with the agent in charge to see what's going on. This department has lost total control of itself and the Director in charge is doing nothing to comprehensively address the problem. Typically an i130 should only take 6-7 months to complete the whole process. That is from USCIS approval, to going through the state dept, to going through the foreign consulate which would end up issuing my wifes & daughters Visa.
I've written letters to the President & Congressman. Now I'm going to get my Senators and the USCIS Ombudsman involved. This is ridiculous for an entity that is not funded by tax dollars because this is a pay for service. They've got my money, but my wife and daughter are waiting and waiting and waiting to be home with me here in the U.S.
Please look into this and help us. Nobody is really doing anything about bringing this to light.
Thank you.
My name, city and phone number.

I tried to file an e-request for my i-130 since it is over 60 days, but the response I got back from their online tools was I entered an invalid receipt number, but the exact same number worked perfectly when I used it in case status section. What is going on here? Should I be worried?

Interestingly I had just read that article before you posted this. Thanks for the contact information. I understand that sometimes they need additional evidence, but why does it need to take so long to get to this point. Other people who filed after had their NOA2 weeks ago (not in all cases I know) and then we get RFE's! To top it all off, we haven't got the letter, hubbie has been on a family vacation and they will not speak to me as the beneficiary. Trying to stay positive, but it's so difficult being apart. I'm not even allowed to travel back to America to see him, I nearly got denied entry last time I went over and they told me not to return unless I have a visa in my hand!

No you should't be worried. I tried to do the same thing a few days ago and it did the same to me. I had even posted my experience here on VJ.

Anyways, there are so many filers from June that still need approval who have been transferred 15-20 days before us.

What that tells me is the "60 day notice" is just a piece of ####### because even those filers who are in Nov 2013, get accepted at NBC and are routed to NSC and are given a 60 day notice. Does that mean they are going to get approvals in 60 days. The answer is No.

I don't seem to expect any further action until mid April for us.

Thank you my friend,

its sad that our country's leaders are willing to put illegal immigrants who is already with their families ahead of separated families that is trying to do things the right way.

Not trying to bring politics into this conversation, just a minor complaint
