Hello Everyone,

I received my NOA2 approval email on July 5th. Today my NOA2 letter arrived. I had expected the letter to outline the next steps in the process with the NVC but there is no mention of them in the letter I received. Instead it says "the above petition has been approved and forwarded to the above consulate (London)."

The NOA2 email did say "For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State. "

My question--is it possible to skip the NVC within the K-1 process and go direct to the consulate?

Thank you in advance for your responses and guidance.

Thank you in advance for your responses and guidance.

For a K1 visa, the NVC is merely a pit stop to get a new Dept of State case number and shipped off to the embassy. Most should be in and out of there in 3 days. You have finished with USCIS with NOA2. NVC and embassy are under the Dept of State (DOS)---- totally separate government agency.

USCIS isn't going to tell you the next steps because they are done with you and are handing you off. You can learn them by reading this pinned thread at the top of the UK forum http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350185-london-2012-k1s-from-noa2-to-interview-thread/

Thank you very much for your response and for the pinned thread. It is very helpful.

The one thing that I am still confused about is what agency sends us the packet? Or for London do we download the required forms, complete the other requirements, wait for the call for interview and bring all documents and fees to the interview appointment?
