Hi dear forum,

USCIS site said that my EAD was sent today to my address.

It's Thursday today and my Employer is asking if I can start on Monday.

I don't have a USPS tracking number yet and I wonder how many days it took your EAD to arrive.

Thank you!

Cin

I told you already, but 2 days for me. At that time, they were not issuing tracking numbers.

It doesn't really depend on the USCIS now, but on USPS and how fast they deliver to your place.

If this said your EAD has been sent and not that the USPS has picked up the card then it may stil be a few days, The tracking number is only available when the USPS picks up the package and actually assigns the number. Right now they know about the shipment and it is in the pre-shipping stage. You should get another update that states the USPS has picked up your EAD card and the tracking number is XXXXXXXXXX. Then it is 2-3 days from that point.

As far as starting on Monday, it is really up to your employer if the EAD card does not arrive before Monday. They are responsible for completing the I-9 form, so it is up to them as to how far they would want to bend the rules knowing that you have been approved, but not seeing the physical card. Sounds like the card will arrive in Monday's or Tuesday's mail, so you may want to ask them how they want to handle this situation.

Good luck,

Dave

whilst yer waiting,

make certain there is a name card inside of the mail box where the mail is delivered,

as the postman just loves to send official documents back to the government.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
