ah..yes. the .jpg militia, well regulated by nsa

In 2008 and 2010 there were two SCOTUS decisions that addressed this issue clearly and directly. I suggest you read them and clear up your confusion. It is not speculation, it is not opinion or interpretation, it is settled law.

These two decisions were used in December 2012 to force the state of Illinois to issue concealed carry permits to residents on a "shall issue" basis. It is very clearly a right. It is an individual right, not the right of a "well regulated militia" and it applies to states and municipalities as well as the Federal government.

Attempting to obfuscate the issue is ridiculous. That is what anti-gun groups did before the Heller and McDonald decisions. You cannot pretend they do not exist and I cannot create a better argument than to use the existing settled law. You can inform yourself...or not. I don't care.

Did I ever say I did have a permit ?? Honestly don't recall.

You don't have to have a carry permit to own guns in Ga, in your home or Auto.

Only to carry concealed, from what i understand

Correct. Georgia has permitless open carry. Always has to my knowledge. If there was ever a time that Georgia required a permit for anything BUT concealed carry, it was a long time ago.

I thought you already had a gun permit. Did you just renew, or were you lying before and just got one or did you illegally posses a handgun? You may want to seek advice of council before answering.

Spooky, you live in one of only 2 states require that FOID thing to possess a firearm. Almost no where is it like where you live. Most of the country is FREE.

You would be better off leaving the criminal assumptions to others much less informed than yourself. They are much better than you at sounding stupid. Practice makes perfect

You guys and your militia #######. You're not the defenders of democracy and your not going to defeat a facist us government takeover. God, just admit you want it for protection from punks and a smug sense of masculinity. That's why. Stop talking about the other #######.

I freely admit I want it for protection against thugs and punks.. Not so much the masculinity part. Having grownup around guns, been in the Infantry and I don't get an ego boost out of it.

I am concealed carry keep it out of the spotlight kind of guy ,I support open carry I just think it's tactically stupid.

As for could a well organized insurgent force defeat a vastly superior army.

When has it ever not succeed ?

Our own Revolution

Vietnam

Look how long the Russians and USA have been getting their ### handed to them by Goat Farmers in Afghanistan

Um. No.

I prefer using the reasons stated in Supreme Court decisions and the recent Federal Appeals Court decision that forced IL to allow its residents to carry concealed. I don't care of you like the reason I cite or not. Fact is, neither you or I can make up better "reasons" than those stated in the law.

So you believe every law abiding citizen should be allowed to get a permit to carry concealed weapons. Right? Like they are allowed to in WI and GA and most states, right? And that getting a permit to carry a firearm to the grocery store to buy paper towels does not involve paranoia. We agree.

Yes. Like I have said numerous times, I have absolutely no problems with law abiding citizens carrying a gun.

It is not a choice I would make for myself and I would not choose to have a gun in my home, but that doesn't mean I am anti-gun for those who want/need one.

The only thing about this post that I even really responded to was the comment about paying for a permit and having fingerprints done. All of which I think are perfectly logical if you want to carry a gun.

fine. attempt to form a publicly operating well regulated militia and see how far you get.

i know you don't listen to what you don't want to hear, but again - i'm not against gun ownership or concealed carry. you can keep repeating yourself if you wish but you're regurgitating the wrong argument.

People carry guns for protection. Not because they want to fight the government. Well, I guess some do but I gotta hope you're better than that. You guys just wanna act like its your American citizen's obligation to carry a gun when that has nothing to do with that. Its only turned to that because you think someone is going to come into your house and take your gun. A possibility that we're also no where near. Not that it would matter right? We all know they'd have to pry them from your cold dead hands.
