Canadians in Canada cannot carry concealed handguns, but Canadians in Vermont CAN carry concealed handguns. Vermont has lower crime than Canada.

What is the purpose of requiring permits?

The $82 is to make sure poor people aren't attempting to carry concealed weapons. So I'd be excited that they even have a way to filter out the undesirables.

I live on a country road with 7 well armed neighbors in a half mile stretch. we are all captains of our own right to live secure and enjoy the thngs we have all worked so hard for.

Well we had one non gun owner. He got broke in by two hoodie wearing young black males who kicked in his back door, while home. Lucky he confronted them and they ran, but it took the Sheriff about 17 mins to get there and they wrote it up as trespassing and went on about their biz.

He is now an avid gun owner ...

So you believe every law abiding citizen should be allowed to get a permit to carry concealed weapons. Right? Like they are allowed to in WI and GA and most states, right? And that getting a permit to carry a firearm to the grocery store to buy paper towels does not involve paranoia. We agree.
