I could not be prouder.

Shame I had to go pay 82.50 and be finger printed so I could exercise my constitutional right

But yet somehow making someone show an ID to vote is avast right wing conspiracy to disenfranchise minorities.

 Yes. Permits should be free and they shouldn't have to verify your identity or check your records at all!

The $82 is to make sure poor people aren't attempting to carry concealed weapons. So I'd be excited that they even have a way to filter out the undesirables. ;)

" Them " would be every anti-gun nut aka LWAGN or libtards for the ones I like. You do realize that the permits that we are speaking of are for gun carry permits and not voter cards for dems?secret7vf.gif

Good for you.

As you may know I am opposed to the issuance of concealed carry permits,For the reason stated in your first sentence. Preferring that anyone be allowed to carry concealed without a license. This is how it is in Vermont and we have extremely low crime. However the reality of living in a FREE, liberal (as opposed to **) state is that we have no concealed carry permits and therefore no reciprocity to carry in other states.

I obtained and maintain two non-resident CCW permits for other states which are reciprocal in 41 other states between them. This means I can legally carry concealed in 42 states and have no need to go to the others.

On several occasions we have tried to get optional permits here in Vermont and it has been rejected each time by the liberal Democrat legislature. For the reason stated in your first sentence. They say "We do it right, let everyone else follow us"

FWIW Kentucky and Indiana accept a Vermont drivers license as a concealed carry permit. Now THAT's reciprocity!

Vermont has no permits, even visitors from Canada and other states can carry. Does your state have a lower crime rate than Vermont?

I try to reduce my carbon footprint by walking, so I often get out of the car for the sake of the environment. I take my gun with me.

The fees and processes do inhibit minorities more than whites. Best solution is no permit required, just allow anyone over 18 to carry concealed. Works here. Why wouldn't it work in your state?

Canadians in Canada cannot carry concealed handguns, but Canadians in Vermont CAN carry concealed handguns. Vermont has lower crime than Canada.

What is the purpose of requiring permits?

My point is that the process in which you need to prove your innocence in a shooting cost far more than most people think. It's not like a traffic accident. Even if you believe you are totally justified you could find yourself being charged with something.

So if you see a bad guy, use the phone if you can and don't strictly rely on the 9mm. Defending a murder charge starts at around $60,000 dollars and goes up from there. Unless you use a Public Defender, then plan on taking a deal on a lesser charge.

Me personally, I couldn't afford all that time off work, but hey, to each his own.

I don't follow suspects, so I don't worry about potential confrontations.

Not everyone is built to carry a firearm. Some humans aren't designed for anything, but maybe procreation and there lies the problem. ;)
