All,

I hope your journey is going well. This can be a very trying process and my best wishes to you.

I have done a lot of searching on the K1 forum and VJ but am still confused about I-134 Proof.

I have adequate income from a full-time job that I have been employed at for over 4 years. I want to use my income as proof that I can provide financial support.

I will provide these supporting documents as proof of income with my I-134:

  • Tax return transcripts for the past 3 years.
  • Current pay statement
  • YTD pay summary
  • Letter from employer on offical letterhead verifying my current pay, hire date and that I am in good standing.

So, my question is:

Can I leave the assets portion blank on the I-134?

It's kinda scary to give someone your bank account numbers and balances along with your SSN, current address, mothers maiden name, email address and pretty much every other piece of confidential information commonly used to verify your identity over the phone.

I would like to omit any disclosure of assets but do not want to jeopardize approval of the visa.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Rick

If your income is more than adequate, then there is no need to divulge your assets.

If your income is border-line (only just enough), then including the assets may help seal the deal.

You shouldn't need to hand over the actual account numbers and such, though. You can have them XXX'd out with just the last set of numbers showing etc. Having your name on them is the most important thing.
