Back to the OP's beef, sometimes the title is sufficient. For ones I have posted link only, the link is there to cite the source, and the text of the article really doesn't add anything to what is noted in the title.

For most of us, the Mods have been conforming the title to the linked article. For one special member, they have most recently been overlooking that.

When you make a thread in here, rather than just post a link can you maybe say something about the story or paste one or two paragraphs (not the whole story) about it so we have a rough idea what its about and what your opinion is?

If you do this, you might be pleasantly surprised to find you get more relevant responses.

Many do not want to click on links, for various reasons, from security, privacy, to just not having the interest to do so.

If they're posting both the link and a snippet, that's great, because then if you want to read the whole story, you can just click the link.

Personally, a snippet would be great so that a) I know what the article is about and b) I know why the person posted it..

Personally, I like to see a poster adding a personal viewpoint when they post an article. Regardless of their political persuasion, a personal interpretation, or highlight, helps focus possible discussion when an article is lengthy (as some are wont to be).

Of course, with the current divisive, partisan atmosphere in P&R, I'm always surprised if a post makes it off page 1 without an insult being thrown by someone.

I'm even more surprised if the post is more or less still on topic at that stage.
