Priority date 05/13/13 (EAD, AP, I-130, I-485 with necessary supporting documents mailed to Chicago Lockbox, case was soon transfered to NBC). Biometrics done on 06/18. Adjusting status from J-1 to CR-1.

Question 1:

The online status for my EAD application has been updated to "Card production ordered on July 10".

But the online status for AP application hasn't been updated (still "Initial Review").

Is there a chance that I will only receive EAD and my AP application will be denied? I applied for the combo card and did not include elaborate justification for requesting an AP. I just said that I need an AP to visit my family.

Question 2:

My I-485 online status is "Testing an Interview" since 06/27, but I still haven't received any notification in mail regarding the date and time of interview. Is this normal? Or should I call them and ask for a date to be scheduled?

Question 3:

Many people say that they received email/SMS notifications from USCIS when their I-485 status was updated to "Testing and Interview" and when their EAD application status was updated to "Card production ordered". I received email and SMS updates from USCIS initially when they received my concurrent AOS application package. But since then I have not received any email/sms update from them. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum.

You ask very good and frequently-posed questions. For me, the USCIS online status system is akin to an old car that is sometimes operational (polite-talk). There are many forum postings about flip-flopping of status, no change in status, reversal of status....hmmm...what are some other possible combinations???

Due to the multiple flip-flopping of the online status we experienced with my wife and stepson's AOS processing, we finally decided that when we got a such a message that we could only conclude that something was being done at USCIS with our various applications, but we would wait for the card and/or hard copy to show up in the snail mail.

YMMV.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

question 1- i have read previous threads that that can happen and i have seen to results! 1. u still get the combo card without updates on ap status, as well as when approved for ap you get it as a letter

question 2- that time frame is very normal depending on your local office it can take anywhere between 2 weeks to 2 months to get a date!

question 3- have you registered your case online at the uscis website for such notification, if not u should!

this is a wait game be patient! on average people case take 4-6 months, but it can take up to 9 months, it all depends!
