Hi everyone,

I received my noa2 and have received my case numbers- I know that they say you're supposed to wait for your invitation letter to schedule the interview, but can I just schedule it now since I've been reading on here that the letters from CDJ rarely arrive anyway? It's only been a few days since my NOA2, if I schedule my interview for a month from now will that be okay?

Please help! Any info you can give me is helpful. I'm starting law school in September and trying to get my fiance here before that so that I don't have the stress of his interview and arrival during my first weeks of school!

Thanks in advance :)

This is not the case for Juarez. Not all consulates have the same procedures and requirements, and if you do not know the actual process for a certain consulate, then you should refrain from answering and giving misinformation.

OP> If you got all the numbers you need from the NVC and you know that your case was already received by CDJ, then you can go ahead and fill out the DS-260, pay the visa fee and schedule your appointments. There have been a few people still waiting on their letters that have appointments scheduled already and CDJ seems to be behind on mailing them out. You can schedule for as late as possible for your situation and hope that gives them enough time to send out yours. If not, others have had success with going early to the consulate on your first day in Juarez and get the letter printed off from the information window there

Thanks for your feedback Jay-Kay! You've been so helpful through this process. One last question, I think I may have made a mistake...

So today I was able to receive all of my numbers from NVC and I went ahead to fill out the ds-260, 156, and 156k BUT after reviewing your post again I realized that you said CDJ must receive the packet before I fill out those forms and my case is still at NVC. I was able to complete them with my numbers but now I'm worried it's going to mess something up the fact that my case isn't at CDJ yet. Any advice???

Thanks!

It is perfectly ok to fill out the forms already. Are you sure your case is not at CDJ yet? Did the NVC say they had not sent your case there yet? Use this site to track it. Use immigrant visa option and enter the case# you received from the NVC > https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?
