What American accent do you have?

Your Result: The Northeast

Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak.

funny... i do live in the northeast (philly area), but i was born and raised in the deep south... and most folks can tell that i am not from here, but act shocked when i tell them that i am from alabama... lol

What American accent do you have?

Your Result: The Inland North

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

Philadelphia

The Northeast about 75%

The Midland about 70%

The South about 45%

The West about 40%

Boston about 10%

North Central about 5%

Have to really laugh at that.. just finished with a patient that was from Wisconsin... hahha could it be i was a tad swayed..

Seriously.. ever since I lived in Hawaii... my accent is swayed toward the NYish .. always am asked if im from NY... haha.. but then depending on whom I am talking to.. haha.. most recently .. I get teh giggles from people .. cause I have picked up the accent/phrasing from Janak.. and catch myself sounding more Indian american than I realise..

Maybe ill wait a bit and retake it hahahah

 this is too funny...

Your Result: North Central

"North Central" is what professional linguists call the Minnesota accent. If you saw "Fargo" you probably didn't think the characters sounded very out of the ordinary. Outsiders probably mistake you for a Canadian a lot .

although it looks like almost a tie with "the West"

What American accent do you have?

Your Result: The Midland

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.

Ha! I always tried to tell David that I don't have an accent. :P

Ok I also got:

What American accent do you have?

Your Result: Boston

You definitely have a Boston accent, even if you think you don't. Of course, that doesn't mean you are from the Boston area, you may also be from New Hampshire or Maine.

No, sorry, I say my "r"s unlike people from Boston. :P The thing that threw me off is the question on how to say "horrible". The problem is I say it both ways. So when I picked saying it to rhyme with "#######" it said I speak Midland, but I sometimes say it the way the o sounds in "hot" and that's why it says Boston . But overall I'd have to go with midland with a few thrown in northern things from my parents.

I got the same. Of course I am from Boston, but I SWEAR I DON'T HAVE A BOSTON ACCENT!!!!!!!

Oh, and I think Mary and marry sound the same, and merry is different. That wasn't an option. That must be why my results are off. :P
