I am a bit concerned as I see a lot of canadian members are receiveing NOA2's in 45-60 days. I received my NOA1 for April 11th, 2013 and I am at 90 days now and have heard nothing. I called the UCIS 800 number and they told me my I130 was in San Francisco, then I called back and asked to speak to a tier 2 officer and he told me the paperwork was not in San Francisco but in Missouri and can take 6-9 months. I dont understand why our case would take 9 months when others from the same country who filed in the same year are taking 2 months. I have an MSC number, perhaps this is a bad thing? Is there nothing I can do to help my process? Thank you.

Canadian spouses who live together MIGHT be approved that fast but majority are not. When both partners live abroad there is no local office for them to send the petition so the NBC adjudicates them and that's when you see the under 3 month approvals. My NOA2 took 4 months but most others who filed around my time frame, with a rare exception or two, took longer.

The speed of the I-130 is completely dependant on the speed of the local office. It normally takes 2-3 months for the petition to be sent to a local office. You're lucky in that San Francisco is pretty fast. You'll likely see approval around the 4-5 month stage.

you are close to transfer time

I would give it another two weeks before you check again

the transfer screen is available to an IO if he clicks through them.. that means you have to get an IO who is willing to look at your file specifically instead of reading script

So MSC and NSC are the same place for the email address?

NSCS is the National Customer Service Center which is the phone number you call when calling the USCIS.

NSC is the Nebraska Service Center which isn't the same as MSC which is the National Benefits Center.

My timeline is similar - NOA1 3/20/13. I haven't called simply because everything I read on here is that each time people call they get different answers. I am having hard enough time being patient and I don't want to get my hopes up by getting misleading info from someone at USCIS. Anyhow - I hope you get your noa2 soon! Keep us posted
