What people watch and read is directly related to what they think. I don't think people start out as extremists. I think tendencies get fed to the point of, in some cases, exploding into violent acts. Muslim terrorists, cult members, Christian zealots, etc. People in general aren't this dumb....... I hope. Over years of inflammatory talk by mentors, social groups, talking heads, whatever, people start to believe in this hate driven #######. How is it people think the US government is on the verge of becoming Nazi Germany? Its so alarming to me that people can think this way when I haven't been fueled from the same source as them for the past however many years. Going through immigration makes me believe the government has become less capable of doing..... well anything than ever before.

You explained at great length your bias and how you judged someone guilty before the trial started and ignored any questions or points that I brought up that you didn't want to answer because they didn't fit into your viewpoint. There was no reasoning with you, MBD and a few others. Hopefully the jury went into this case without a preconceived verdict and will base their decision on the law and the evidence presented. Just like they did with OJ and Casey Anthony.

I disagree somewhat.

People are lazy and that makes them ill informed. If you use ANY form of broadcast media to get your news you're being somewhat misled. I go back and forth through the channels and I see the biased reporting, its always sensationalized to attract viewers (Maybe not PBS, but commercial TV in general.).

I use the formula that it's probably 60% accurate, but I need to verify what is the truth with other sources. i.e. do some homework.

I use to think feeding the starving people of Africa was a no brainer. Send them some rice, what's bad about that? I believed that until African activist explained how the aid was actually counter productive to a sustainable solution. (They actually thought Bono was misguided in his efforts.) They stated that the aid was stolen by warlords and the African's were not learning to grow their own crops.

People will believe anything they hear in most cases. As stated, I've been sucked into that myself.

Nobody actually knew that TM was on top of GZ pounding on him until it was described by an eyewitness. Was that eyewitness speculating? I watched him testify and he just described what he saw. So if it is in fact not speculative and it did happen as was described by an eyewitness - in your opinion did GZ have the right to defend himself or not? Do you accept eyewitness testimony or not? The riot is watching you and your fellows dismiss that eyewitness testimony in favor of articles in New York newspapers.

BUT, you can't go into an altercation with a firearm and use it just because you feel you're losing the fight if the other person does not have a firearm. It was a part of the jury's instructions and part of the Florida state law.

You need to consider that in GZ own account his head was not on the cement any longer, his hands were free and no matter how many punches TM threw they were not doing any damage to GZ's face? Where are the facial blows? Just the nose he claims happened at the very first. If you're on top the whole time wailing on a person there would be severe damage to the front of his face. And GZ claims he was being suffocated...WHILE YELLING for help and that's why he had to shoot? Really?

GZ said "He said you gonna die tonight MF'er" yet TM just ignored the gun once in the hand and allowed himself to be shot and said "you got me"? This is one reason GZ tried to claim "he forgot" he had the weapon on him...although he stated he carries the weapon everyday. Because of the law regarding self defense and equal force.
