The attitude is obvious, even here. When did anybody go to any trouble of posting pictures from Adam Lanza's cell phone? Or go through his school history to see what problems he had? James Holmes? I barely know anything about him. His character hasn't been scrutinized to the point TM's has.

So I guess in every single killing if the suspect is white, and the victim is black, we need to always assume the victim was killed because of his race, due to $hit that happened years ago and is totally unrelated. Makes sense. More special treatment for people that want to be treated equally.

Psycho is a derogatory term. This is a little different situation as TM was the one shot and the other two were the shooters. But, I've certainly heard people on here say tons and tons of derogatory terms about both TM and GZ, depending on their particular bias.

The impression I got was they were brooding psychos. I fail see that this is some how not as bad as being called trash or thugs. They're different types of negative comments, but negative comments nonetheless.

Penny, who gave either of them a sympathetic ear? All I remember is people talking about, in detail, the type of capital punishment they deserved.

For sure, personal circumstances regulate all individual points of view and I have no illusions that mine are the end all be all. But, I try to be objective and statements like his make be wince. I only said something to him because I think he's pretty rational and I don't like it when he slips (from my perspective) towards an extreme. I wouldn't waste my breath on the members of the TM hate trust.

TM did far less "bad things" ... dude never killed anybody. And yet his past is still being dissected and scrutinized here on a daily basis. I'm not saying his past is irrelevant, I'm saying he's getting a harsher treatment here than Holmes or Lanza did.

If you honestly don't see a difference in the reactions that the stories got here, then I can't help you.

But threads never popped up here about what horrible kids Lanza and Holmes were.

I wasn't necessarily talking about the media so much, since I generally find them to never cover a story properly. I was talking about here in these forums, where people discuss these things daily.

I'm talking about the people here who will continuously tell you what trash TM was. He was a hyena. He was scum. These aren't the majority, of course, but the statements have been made. These same people made no such statements about MUCH worse people who gunned down children and movie-goers for no reason other than because they wanted to.

Nobody's spoken of Adam Lanza in months. He's dead, so not much to talk about, I suppose. But Holmes is alive, and making court appearances, and I've yet to find anyone starting a thread about him and talking about him in a derogatory way.

Just an odd difference between the reaction to someone like Holmes and the reaction to someone like TM.
