Thanks for the compliment

I could help but think about you when I read some of the questions. There was one that said something like people need to be lead or have leadership. What did you put for that one?

Edit, its the question Teddy posted above.

"In a civilised society, one must always have people above to be obeyed and people below to be commanded."

strongly disagree.

rofl.gif True. Sooner rather than later it appears the way the demographics in the U.S. are shaping up.

I'll probably be living back in Thailand by then, where everyone views me as a walking ATM, where I can't own land and don't have many rights. I'll be back then to tell everyone how oppressed I am.

You remember Private Dancer? I read that right before we pulled in. You married a good woman so I know it's nothing for you, but I feel you. You can't buy land without a Thai and if it goes south they can take everything from you.

Yep, I actually have that book. I wish I would've read it BEFORE I moved to Thailand. Would've saved me alot of money, a knife wound, and a trip to the police station. Live and learn I suppose. The good news in my case is that my wife already owns land, so I don't have to buy it. However, I will have to pay to build the house on it.

See, I think its a misnomer that leadership is always bad. You have to have chiefs and Indians in order to assign jobs, manage projects, and hold people accountable. I think its magic world to think that people could ever police themselves. Relax gun guys, that doesn't mean I want you doing it.

Oh yeah, it was an eye opener for me. We had a good time there, but I was on high alert the whole time. We stayed at the Amari Nova Hotel, one of the best hotels I've been in for 65 bucks a night. Had a suite and everything. Plus we FB the hotel staff so we could get discounts if we came back again. I got my Master Chief a hook up when he went for a TDY there.

i think its a magic world to think that people are incapable of policing themselves. at this point in the game, people are so used to being commanded (what is permissible and what is not, what form to file or fee to pay) in order to exist within the grid we've all but lost faith in our own capabilities.

i don't believe leadership is bad, however personal responsibility/accountibility should lead the individual. that is the primary goal of reaching an age of culpability. specifically relating to the wording of the question..there is a difference between a leader or manager or organizer and someone "to be obeyed", in my opinion.

and people do police themselves, everyday. we have police and written rules in order to enforce punishment or in the case of things like parking tickets or ccw permits to generate revenue for the state. if all the cops disappeared from my town for a day, i don't believe for an instant that we'd all lose our marbles and start rioting or killing everything in sight...
