Hello friends and all vj members.

Need help on how to file form i-765. I am confused on question # 16 which states as ...The filing fee for Form I-765 is $380. If you request consideration of deferred action for childhood arrivals, category ©(33), you must also pay an $85 biometric services fee for a total of $465. There is no biometric services fee for any other employment category. Some filing types are fee exempt. See the form instructions for more information. So my question is that, should i type ©(33),as answer to question # 16 on form I-765? I am ready with the fees.I also filled out form I-465 .All what i am now waiting for is what to type on question number 16 on form i-765.I got a daughter back home which name was on our forms and is that what the form is asking me? Please i need urgent help so that i can mail out my form and also, please tell me which address can i mailed out my form as i am living in Greensboro,NC.Thank very much and i will be waiting for the answer.

How did you come to the US? You have to look at the instruction page to see what category. If K-1 look at page 4 of the I-765 instructions. This also tells you were to mail your application. If you are Adjusting status with (I assume you mean I-485) then there is no additional fee if submitted at the same time. READ and Re-READ the I-485 instruction for how to do the complete package....

Are you filing for adjustment of status? Its kind of hard to answer your question cause you did not provide us with any information about yourself for us to know what answer you should put on question 16. This is a sample form you can refer to http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-I-765.pdf

If you are filing for adjustment of status you do know there are more 4 forms to fill out, 5 if you are filing 1-131

about the fees- did you fill out a form I-821D ( the deferred action for childhood arrival) which is basically used by people who came into this country as a child and has lived here for 5 years or more. I am going to assume that is not the case for you. You will most likely put C9 for number 16. This has nothing to do with your actual child.

You need to read these instruction to make sure you did everything correctly for this form http://www.uscis.gov/USCIS/New%20Structure/2nd%20Level%20(Left%20Nav%20Parents)/Forms%20-%202nd%20Level/Forms%20Static%20Files/I-765instr.pdf

http://www.visajourney.com/content/examples use this link to cross check you forms to make sure you did everything correctly! Please note some of the forms on this link may be out dated, uscis has newer versions

You should go ahead and file the I-131 form too. It is also free when filed with a pending I-485 and you never know if something would come up that you would need to leave and re-enter the US while waiting for your green card approval. You can simply put Unknown for travel date and length and no explanation statement needed. The form is short and easy to fill out. Follow the guide to know what all to file > http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1k3aos

I don't want to file form I-131(Advance Parole) as at now as I am thinking of doing that later when I am ready to visit Ghana some years later..

I-765 (EAD) and I-131 (AP) forms, if approved, grant you a temporary work and travel authorization while your AOS case is pending. If your AOS is approved, you will be granted a green card, which will authorized you to work in the US and travel back to the US without a visa. Your EAD/AP card will be then useless.

The decision on your AOS case shouldn't take more than a year. But I agree with Jay-Kay, it's a good idea to file form I-131 anyway. You never know if you may have to come back to your home country for a family emergency or something, while your AOS case is pending.

Dear friends again, I was filling form i-131(Advance Parole), and at Part 2 of Application Type stated that:

If you are applying for a non-DACA related Advance Parole Document, skip to Part 7; DACA recipients must complete Part 4 before skipping to Part 7.

Please can someone again tell me what did that means? I am already thankful to everyone who has been helping me here. I am waiting to get quick responds. Once again thanks

Skip to part 7, you are non-DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). It tells you about it in the form instructions > http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-131instr.pdf
