I am not a proponent of concealing a firearm...I believe they should be worn in full view. I believe that would be a much more effective crime deterrent, We would have a more polite and courteous society. Plus I have a very nice holster and I hate having to hide it

Example

10 Air Marshalls, 100 flights

what s a better deterrent?

1. The 10 Air Marshalls are uniformed, carry guns openly and publish their flight itineraries

2. No one knows who is an Air Marshall and who has a gun

????

Concealment is a force multiplier. Nice holsters are their own reward

Agree. I went out to eat the other night with a open carry buddy of mine. Long time civilian with no tactical training. I tried to explain that, although I thought his open carry was a great exercise of his constitutional rights, that tactically it was a bad decision. Surprise is the mother of all force multipliers

Sun Tzu, The Art of War

“All warfare is based on deception. Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near.”

I wish it was the case, unfortunately the states that have open carry when ppl see someone carrying they all freak out like they have seen ghost and start calling 911.

You should be able to see lot of those videos on youtube… and how later on they are harassed by the cops for open carry.

That is a good thing. If you carry a firearm, you should be required to wear a shirt with a big target on both sides.

Great idea. Lets live in a state of paranoia. Guess that is why you are interested in Eastern Europe.

In some places maybe. We have open carry here, in addition to concealed carry...we actually have no restriction at all so do as you will. I rarely see anyone plainly carrying a handgun openly. It is not unusual to see a pistol butt poking out of someone's jeans pocket or coveralls and no one cares. I saw a guy in the light bulb aisle at Lowe's one day carrying a medium frame S&W revolver, 6" barrel in a crossdraw holster, fully exposed. No one cared, not many noticed, but I am a gun guy and an S&W collector. Looked like a classic blued M19. I have a 2.5" model, engraved, for my "dress gun" for formal occasions and stuff. The ultra CDP would be kinda "gauche" with my tux, d'ya think? It is done up after George Patton's M27 3.5" with ivory grips but on the smaller "K" frame and with the round butt for concealment.

Anyway, concealed has long been the way to go to protect not only yourself but society in general. Concealed has many other advantages. You do not need a "retainer" type holster since no one knows you have a gun, it is not like they are going to try and take it from you, a form fitting holster with no retainer strap works great. The gun is protected from the elements though it can be exposed to sweat and stuff.
