I'm currently on a B1/B2 visa and was only allowed to stay until 7/18/13. However, I just received approval notice for my EB1a yesterday. I didn't file my I-485 concurrently as I wasn't confident about my EB1a so didn't want to take the risk. Now I have only one week and may not be able to get all the documents ready for I-485 in time. I'm evaluating my options including going back home and do the Consular Processing. Do I have any other options with the very few days I have? Thanks!

Hurry up and get an I-485 application together. Do your medical tomorrow. There's no reason you can't get it submitted before 7/18. Even if you are missing something like a birth certificate that can't be obtained on short notice, submit the application without it and you'll get an RFE for it. As soon as your application is submitted (get a receipt of mailing or a FedEx tracking number etc), you enter a new period of authorized stay.

It's a category of employment-based immigrant petition, usually for executives, professors or people with "extraordinary ability".

Cyrain, wish I had an answer for you but I don't know. Suggest you consult a good immigration attorney.
