People are not going to say no to convenience, even if it means they have to work

a couple of hours more every day.

What people? Not me!

So you would suffer an entire year for the enjoyment of a few extra vacation days?

Honestly, to me it's really not suffering. I am not terribly inconvenienced by short bank hours, or by not being able to go grocery shopping on Sunday. Yes, I would rather extra vacation days, for sure.

I would!

What's convenience anyways? I live in LA, the second largest city in the USA, every time I want some a burger at 2am I have to get in my car and drive

Fair enough Jenn. Have fun in Europe! :D

I love driving. Especially at 2am when the city is mostly empty and you can *really* drive. :D

Why shouldn't people pay more to shop at inconvenient hours. I think double would be ok, and the workers should get paid double for working after hours too.

I am not sure why anyone would be 'happy' having purchased 'convenience' food, but that's just my opinion.

Anyone who works in retail will be labelled 'poor' to me because it's my idea of work hell. Each to their own though :)

even thought the Mickey D's hourly wage is low, the 3rd shift employees get paid more for working the 12am-6am shift.. I dunno taco hell

... I don't think any parent here would argue that kids come cheaply. ;)

Depends on what part of Mexico you're in. Can find some bargains, sometimes.

And yes....people started getting defensive and angry because someone came on here and said it was an OBLIGATION for child-less people to cover for people with kids. They're the future of the homeless shelter, after all. It may take a village for Hillary, but most people take care of their own damn kids without expecting others to use their time (since spawnless people don't have anything important to do. See the post. She actually said this.) to kneel and bow and scrape to the almighty power of the breeder.

People like her are the ones I was referring to in my rant. "I have progeny! You will now be my slave! I can reproduce!" (Hence my use of the term #### trophies....that's what they seem to be to some people. Proof that they've had sex and can spawn.)

And yet, Sweden does NOT pay a price in lower productivity as Sweden has higher GDP per hour worked than the USA. What does this tell you......?

Who cares about their productivity per hour when I want to go shopping

on a Sunday afternoon and all the stores are closed?

Who cares that you can't go shopping when you want when productivity is high and the economy is doing well?

I care. Which is why I say Europe sucks. My U.S. bank is open 7 days a week

(until 9pm on weekdays and 4pm on Sundays) and most holidays. Convenience.

You don't get that in Europe.

There's more to life than being a consumer 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

convenience is very important for a lot of customers.. and at the end of the day, there's nothing more important if you're hungry for a burger or a gordita and ur wendys or taco bell closes at 11pm instead of 2am..

Hence our obesity epidemic. ;) We're paying a price for that convenience and the question is whether it's truly worth it?

So taco bell holds people by gunpoint?

Say these words with me, Steven...I know they'll hurt...it's called

PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY!

...what a concept! ;)

Why shouldn't people pay more to shop at inconvenient hours. I think double would be ok, and the workers should get paid double for working after hours too.

Because then it wouldn't be convenient

We're altogether on an odd track in this thread :)

What strikes me as odd is that shopping is viewed as a recreation. There is very little 'need' to have shops open 24/7 and I can't imagine that many shops do very brisk business between 12am and 6 am. However, having never seen the need to go at that time of night I have no first hand knowledge:)

Mawilson, you are not suggesting that you might exceed the speed limit when the streets are empty are you???

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Yes, you're exactly right. My time is just as valuable as anyone else's...even if I wanna waste it, lol

I don't understand it either, but I was speaking to a mgr at WM and he said that the stores were busy at 3 am, which I find crazy.

And MW's car may be fast, but I can still beat him:P :P :P

Well, people DO work 2nd shift and 3rd shift. I tend to go shopping at 3am on Fridays because that's my normal time to be awake, and Friday is my day off....
