Hi VJ,

My girlfriend who is a US citizen and who I've been in a relationship with since my college days (we're going 5 years on sept yaay!) are going to apply for a K-1 Visa next year March. Anyway, if everything goes according to plan and I do get approved I am wondering about the employment I currently have.

I am working for a company based in the UK from the Philippines and earning 8 usd/h. It's not very good but it's also not bad and I'm wondering if I can keep this job and keep working on the job while in the US under the K-1 Visa.

Thank you in advance for your answers

Sure, if you have the proper work visa to remain in the US, then welcome. You'll have to go back to your country and that Embassy for your interview.

Not unless you have a work visa.

K-1 visa does not allow you to work. Even after the wedding you can't work until you possess either the EAD or green card.

You cannot transfer to the US office until you have an EAD or GC.

So basically no. You will need to take a leave of absence or "quit" and then restart once you have your EAD.
